Who can wear a Rolex ?
Hi everybody!
First of all i would like to introduce my self. My name i Pontus and im from Sweden ( as if you havent figure that out ). I bought my first rolex from an AD in Sweden 2010. From the moment i got home and open My Green box whit my brand new datejust 2 i was stuck. I Did absolutley love the watch and Rolex. Sadly in 2012 things went wrong in 2012. I hade to sell my DJ 2 due to bad economy. Now things seen a lite more brighter and i have saved some cash for a 116610. But now to the thing that bothers me. Can anyone wear a Rolex ? Today i just a regular guy whit a normal payment and a no fancy job. Can i still wear a rolex ? For Me Rolex is not all about welthyness and econmical acivement, for Me Rolex is one of the few brands i realy appriciate for its history and its AAA quality. Is it just Me here or is it anyone more that not have unllimited whit cash ?:) Best regards from Sweden. |

Anyone can save and afford a Rolex or any other fine watch. It all depends on what your priorities are as to where you direct your hard earned savings. Some people put it towards cars, bicycles, boats, motorbikes and a myriad other hobbies and interests. If one want's a Rolex, it's achievable for most people if that's what they want! :-)

On another forum I'm on called Garage Journal there was a thread about watches in the OT section. I was surprised how many Rolex popped up. Garage Journal has a lot of mechanics, DIY guys, guys in the trades, etc. Probably not the demographic I would have assumed for Rolex wearers.

If you can afford it, then you can own one. It's just a watch after all. However, everyone have different criteria as to how to determine "affordability" as we all have different priorities in life. This is something you have to decide for yourself.

Hey Pontus, you're correct: only I am sufficiently cool to wear your rolex. Please put it in the mail addressed to me.

Kör på, Pontus. Om du vill ha en Rolex och kan undvara pengarna, kör på. Livet är för kort för att oroa sig vad andra tycker och tänker.

Anyone who has the money and the desire can wear a Rolex. I have friends who think I'm crazy for spending that much on a watch. Some of these same friends spend as much, if not more, on motorcycles, bicycles, bass boats, hunting rifles, horses, etc. It all comes down to what you want and how much you value it. And it certainly makes no difference what you do for a living. Hope you get another Rolex real soon and enjoy!!

Just a "regular" guy here with a job in the IT field...
I bought my watch when I was younger, single and in a job that had really nice bonuses. Now being happily married with a newborn daughter and a house, it'll be a while before I buy a second Rolex so I enjoy the one I have! I also have other hobbies that tend to take my extra disposable income as I am not a watch collector.. Edit: I agree with all the others.. anyone who can afford to buy one can wear a Rolex.. you don't need to meet minimum salary/car/social status requirements. |

How much money must one earn to be a Hockey fan?
What social status must one be in to enjoy kite flying as a hobby? What you earn or who you are in the eyes of others has no relevance as to what you enjoy as far as interests go. My interest is Rolex. I have 3 of them to enjoy and it took me 47 years to aquire them. Your question should be " who deserves to wear a rolex?" The answer is quite simple Everyone |

If everyone wore them, they would change the name to "Seiko".

I'll have to agree with the majority here, if you like it, want it and have the money for it then you are "allowed" to wear a Rolex. There's no need to subscribe to any social club or anything at all as it remains a watch.
