Rolex service compared to other brands

I used the RSC here in new york twice in the last couple of months ,first time spent about $1000.00 between service and parts on a 12 year old Explorer ll,watch turned out terrific, recently I spent $80.00 changing bezel insert on GMTll.The quality of service was no different then the time I spent 1000.00
I own a ceramic IWC ceramic Top Gun,discontinued model needed a new band, went to the IWC boutique in New york was told it had to be ordered would take about 4 weeks and why didnt I go to tourneau and order it,after all my watch was 5 years old and i wasnt buying a new one.
I own a speedy pro stopped in omega boutique re band adjustment ,no one in store could doit, just a couple of sales people
I used to own a Girard Perregeaux......Ferrarri watch...stopped in the boutique in new york, inquired about servicing the watch was told that service starts at 1000 .I think some marketing campaigns are simply based on.exspensive and arrogant.I think with rolex you really do get quality for the little thinga as well as the big ticket items for the life of the watch.

Breitling service at breitling on 57st is second to none, i actually talked to the watchmaker about the watch and what needed to be done and not some customer rep. i would say personally it was the best service all around ive had including rscnyc..

Invicta service is easy...Throw the old watch in the trash can, and buy a new one. If you really feel the need to own an Invicta

The rsc at singapore regulated my dssd and had it finished the same day, only took an hour or two and they called me to pick the watch up. It came back running very accurate! Gained and lost +/- 1 sec a day avg depending on my activity, and currenty at +1s in total after a week since last monday i had it regulated.

i remember from asking ghe boutiques and service center from other brands just for simple regulation.. Compared to panerai? 2 weeks minimum. Omega? A month, and they refused to regulate a watch running -3s/day because it is running within spec they said. My dssd was running -2/day and rsc accepted it for regulation to +1 as i request.

I've learned that aftersales service for watches brands are very important. And rolex does not dissappoint in this regard, compared to other brands that is.

Very well said ....they make good beaters... I love to have crappy company beaters that are cheap and I don't have to worry about them or baby them..

Each experience varies -

The RSC is the pinnacle of service quality - boutiques are not.

To access service from most other brands the most direct route is usually through the boutiques.they dont have the service center network that rolex does.I called IWC and was told that I would have to send my watch to Fort Worth.........you would think that they would have something closer to new york

I've rarely encountered bad service from any brand.

If you do encounter bad service it is the exception and not the norm. Most major brands will go out of their way to make sure you are a happy customer.

I had good service on my Tag Heuer Carrera. The date wouldn't change unless done manually. Took it into the shop I bought it from granted within warranty period and got it back in about 2 1/2 weeks over Christmas.

I've not sent any of the other's back yet.

If your were referring to the Madison Avenue Omega boutique they do have a service center in the back of the store.

There is no comparison with a real Rolex servicing center vs. the other Swiss guys. Even with their strict policies you pretty much know that the servicing will come out satisfactory along with a SHORTER wait time than say many months for a Patek.

I sent out my GMTII Master Pepsi 1997 T Dial three weeks ago to RSC in NY. Cost me $750 to get it serviced. I can't wait to get it back! Didn't have it serviced since I purchased new in 1997. Zero issues but was way over due for service!

Hopefully Rolex service is better than breitling. I got a watch serviced about 4 years ago and got the dial replaced as well as the inner ring at their recommendation. Never really wore the watch much, and a few months ago noticed it would barely run. They recommended a full service due to a dry movement, and again another redial and inner ring. I was pissed, how could a watch that was redialed by breitling and rarely worn require another redial due to "scratches"? Refuse to buy breitling ever again. Two breitlings I've had stopped functioning only a few years after a full overhaul. No other watches I've had including jlc, ap, panerai, and now Rolex have given me issues.

I have been to the Omega boutique on 5th Ave in NYC a number of times and have never had a problem. In fact, I had a 10 year old Seamaster regulated while I waited and was not charged for the work.
