Watchapp: why are watch apps so bad?

http://vintagewatchesmiddleeast.com/...tage-watch-ap/

A question any watch lover, who enjoys a little current technology, might reasonably ask is: why are watch apps so bad?

On the watch making timeline, the app is still a relative newcomer. With just a few years under its belt, the app as an idea is in a permanent state of development.

The watch industry is not keeping pace, especially in the vintage segment. Watch brands pump out plenty of pretty picture packages and tech-specs for new watches, but these are slow, heavy and limited in, well, application.

Some brands are trying interactive lifestyle magazines, but most are turgid and simply not as good as the consumer titles they mimic. High production values are not a replacement for great copy.

So, my question is what features would you like to see in a watch app, vintage or otherwise?
