That's actually an improvement as you have to drink less of the "yellow water" they call beer.

Red Stripe did the same thing years ago (11.2oz). It used to be called "short & stubby". Now it's just short.

I was looking to see how it would taste better.

I've found the only time Bud tastes good is when it is ice cold, in a can, at the beach, and 80 degrees outside.

it just kind of looks like it has been dented and/or dropped?

and, even though you get two extra cans in the "6-pack" for the same money as the old 6-pack, all people will talk about is the 0.7 ozs less of beer.

from an environmental standpoint, the can is a disaster, requiring more aluminum to deliver less product.

thinking about it, this is a fail on so many levels....

Since it's such a small amount of alcohol in Bud I can't drink that many.

Really afford on a college budget . When I was in college we would drink busch 13 bucks for a 30 compared to the 19 dollar budweiser 30. Or if we were feeling real crazy natty Ice that would make you feel terrible in the morning

Stupid waste of time and resources, changing something that doesn't need to be changed.
A can is a can, and has worked for many decades; now it's 'waisted' in the middle - ready to crush upon draining the last drop of pi$$-water in a macho fashion perhaps, when in reality it now looks a bit effeminate - maybe it should now be 'Queen of Beers', especially considering the content ...

Budweiser without a doubt is one of the worst American beers made and sold to the public.....the only way it tasted half way descent 40 years ago was when it was in a keg, on tap and ice cold. I don't care what they do I will never drink that "stuff" again!!!

Take it easy.....Leo

Budweiser is definitely a cheap beer. What I find annoying is that InBev now accounts for over 25% of all beer sales in the world. They continue to buy different beer brands and continue to expand their portfolio. It seems InBev owns just about everything when it comes to beer.

It's been twenty years since I gave up the alcohol, but in my day, I never liked Budweiser and I always felt like the odd man out, as Budweiser in those days was a very popular beer.

So it feels kinda good to see that there are others here who feel about Budweiser as I always have.

I've always liked their advertising, though.

Instead of spending R&D money on the can, they need to spend it on what they put INTO the can.

It kind of funny how many of us don't like the taste of Budweiser but someone must considering the volume of sales!

Top US beer sales by brand:

1. Bud Light
2. Budweiser
3. Miller Lite
4. Coors Light
5. Corona Extra
6. Natural Light
7. Heineken
8. Michelob Ultra Light
9. Busch Light
10. Miller High Life

I mean it's mostly based on price looking at this list. This is what college kids and professional drinkers drink because they can get it cheap. All they care about is a cost effective buzz, that and the least objectionable taste. Those of use here who drink tend to lean more towards taste-factors and quality over quantity. But i must admit that when I am at the beach or the ball park on a warm day I don't look a gift-bud in mouth...

Cheap and not the best tasting but like you said on a hot day at the ballpark or beach even Bud Light takes good.

Crappy beer? Yup
Waste of resources? Yup.
Dumb design? Yup.
Will they probably switch back later? Yup.

But here we all are talking about Budweiser. When was the last time you did that? I say they were successful regardless of how the can works out. I doubt any one in this thread is going to make a purchase decision based on this, but I bet a lot of people do.

If your product is Meh, then improve the package...

Dean Dairy had ~65% increase in milk sales by a simple package change. And milk is...well, milk.
