Just got bracelet back from Michael Young - not thrilled.
Just received a 93250 (SS Sub, Solid End Link) bracelet back from Michael Young and I'm pretty disappointed.
The pros: Good communication, work completed faster than estimated, fast shipping back to the USA, they did remove the "stretch" from the bracelet. The cons: The overall appearance of the "restored" bracelet. Looks very rough and they inexplicably polished the sides of the links such as on the GMT, Exp2, etc. I don't know… maybe my expectations were set too high but the craftsmanship just looks really rushed and sloppy to me. Perhaps they are a little too busy these days? What say you? |

I don't know much about Rolex bracelets, but the polished part of the clasp with the brushed over clip looks bad. And the pin/screw in picture 2 looks like he should have tried to replace it? What did it look like before?

I wish I could provide some before photos but unfortunately, I mailed the bracelet at a time when I was extremely busy with work and didn't have a chance to snap a few pics.
My issues are: 1. Why are the link sides polished? They aren't polished on a Sub and weren't polished before sending it in. 2. The rivet that holds the fliplock looks extremely sloppy. 3. Three of the four "pins" or whatever they're called that hold the SEL's on are now exposed in a crude manner. To be fair, one of these pins was starting to become visible before I sent the bracelet to MY. I believe this is the one that can be seen near the center in pic #2 that I posted. 4. Scratches left on side of clasp, buffing compound everywhere (I wiped some off before taking pics), etc. I haven't contacted them yet although I probably will shortly. Wanted to gauge if this is normal first? |

That's just wrong !
Not spossed to have hi-polish link sides The only thing that's supposed to hv hi polish - anywhere - is the main clasp... Not supposed to have link pins exposed

not cool
Shoddy work
Was the pin exposed before? Having said that it is uncool of you to post this right here before giving Mike a ping to remedy the situation. on both counts |

My LV sub the side of the links are polished... Seems normal to me unless it was always unpolished on the older subs like yours.

I don't agree that the post should have waited for Mike to respond. If I send something to be repaired I want it done right the first time.

I don't feel bad about posting the pics here before waiting to hear back from Michael. After all, this is apparently the kind of finished product they send out into the world. I'm not a difficult person to please and didn't expect a brand new bracelet for $120 but this is ridiculous!

That bracelet looks like total junk! How bad of shape was it in before you sent it out? If it was me I would request a refund for the work and use the money towards a new Oyster bracelet.

The links do infact look quite tight but the rest looks pretty bad. After seeing all the amazing work that Michael has done on bracelets for forum members it's hard to look at this and not think that this slipped through the cracks. I am confident however that this will be sorted out considering Michael's reputation.

I know that the SeaDweller has this bracelet with polished sides but not aware of any Subs with that finish. Wondering about the earlier post about the LV.

This is what I'm thinking about your polished sides: Since the "stretch" comes from the inner bars wearing down over time, I'm now assuming that the pins are removed or punched out directly though the link and replaced, then the hole is filled and polished out to recreate the smooth surface... or I'm just completely wrong and I'm sorry in advance!

wow. I cant believe he polished the sides of your bracelet. On a side note, you can rebrush it back but it will take you a couple of hours and some meticulous taping
