my sub shipped from RUSA 12 days ago. should i be worried?

they said it would take 7-10 business days to get from NYC to omaha, which seems crazy long. is it normal for registered mail to take so long?

on edit: i guess i'm just assuming they send registered mail, as that's what they requested customers use to send watches in.

Actually that is rather speedy for registered mail. It is slow because it is secure

If they said 10 business days, then wait 14 days. If no show, then get worried !

I wouldn't worry, with everything going on in terms of security I'm betting things are taking longer than expected in all facets of USPS...

There were some huge delays in rail freight in Chicago due to the flooding, if it's moving USPS it's most likely going on the rail "most secure ground transportation"

Anything that goes rail from the NE has to interchange in Chicago, that's most likely the delay.

BTW I work in rail transportation...

No doubt, I work with the UP on a daily basis, although your watch most likely went train from PA to Chicago, switched to the UP in Chicago and railed to KC where it hopped a ride on a truck!

Make sure to send us some pics when you get it! and next time get it overnighted!!! lol

i've had it for a couple of years. it just got serviced at the NYC service center. but, yes, it was my first rolex. in the meantime, i've been alternating between my '71 SS datejust and my '65 vulcain chronograph.

but i miss my sub.

ok makes more sense! If you don't mind me asking, what did it cost to get it serviced, mine is likely going to go in soon

it was free. i sent it in on the last week of its warranty (it was running consistently +15 secs/day, so i figured it wouldn't be bad to have it looked at while it was still under warranty). i thought they'd just regulate it, but for whatever reason, they did a "full service."

Keep us updated Buddy. Fingers crossed.
At least it made me investigate where Omaha is (middle of the US). My knowledge of the States is very sketchy !

I wouldn't worry yet, as others have posted it can take a while. The longest I've ever waited was 14 days (including weekends) for a package to travel from Virginia to Dallas. Stupid slow, but reliable.
