There is something about the 'etched' crown in that crystal that bothers me. I would pass if I were you.

no... it's real. I can tell by the clasp... poor pics is all... take it or leave it but it is 100% real. I know more detail about fakes than anyone and no matter how good a fake is, I can always tell my the clasp where it dents in for your nail to flip the latch. this one is legit.

There is something wrong with the pearl. It doesn't seem ok to me. Also the laser etching can be seen in all pics. Personally i think that it is a fake.

Here is a pic of the genuine watch. The laser etching seems off center also. Check how the pearl looks like at a genuine watch

The etching looks mighty big on that watch. There was a thread earlier where one was shown with a macro lens. Didn't look anything like that.

I agree - the LEC looks big; it also looks crooked - but more disconcerting is that it's visible in the first place. The way that photograph is lit you shouldn't be able to see the LEC at all. And - the pearl also doesn't look right either.

I don't like the LEC, I don't like the detail on the bezel, I don't like the pearl, and I don't like the clasp. Also the seller's previous watch sales do not convince me that he is a reputable Rolex seller.

Any one of those things would make me walk.

Here's an interesting read I posted some while back.

The RIGHT one on the pics is ALWAYS the REAL one!

Very nice Bo! Goes to show, unless you buy from an AD or person you absolutely TRUST, it's easy to be duped.

Space Dweller, Thank you for this great tutorial! It is very interesting to see the two side by side. It also shows just how easy it is for a novice to get taken. This is Why I chose the peace of mind of buying my Explorer II from an AD.

Bo...

That is THE single best post I have yet to see here on TRF. That is damn scary. None of the fakes shown in the Rolex Report are as of high a quality as this one. You scared me straight. I'm going AD and not gray.

I bet if you open it up the movement has "Rolex" engraved on it too. A guy here named MelloYellow bought a Sub off of ebay and it had a LEC just like this fake. We all called it out but he swore his watch was real.

Looking at Bo's great side-by-side, and the bezel and LEC on the proferred sample....

The LV in question is probably a fake.

The markings on the bezel are clearly not centered. And, the LEC on a genuine Rolex would never be that clearly visible--even in pics we've seen where people were using angles and lighting trying to capture the LEC, we've never seen one that visible.

wow great review......

well based on that you can clearly see that the ebay auction the bezel markers are off centered just slightly but enough where its clear fake... also the pearl looks somewhat questionable... however it could be angle.. but still if you have any doubt... .just go against.... regardless of price! better safe than sorry!!

great review once again!
