6 foot 2, medium build, 185-190 lbs on any given day and 6.25-6.5 inch wrist (flat)

Should be fine. Try it on. To get a better judgement how it looks, look at it on your wrist in a mirror.

My gut feeling would be to say it wouldn't look right, at least to my eyes. Those are some slim wrists you've got there... I'm 6'3"/190 and mine are 7.5 flat.

You would have to try it on but my wrist has gone from 7.25 to 6.875 and I am looking at 42 or less and have some some of my larger watches. 40mm seems to be perfect.
I am not sure it works but it is a personal choice

Build-wise, you're fine. Not 100% sure on the wrists, but, if flat, better. The black dial will be slimming.

Why go back? why not try something new? |

I wore one for a while and have puny 6.3 wrists.
Looked great, felt great on the wrist due to the flat case back. Go for it! |

It's all a matter of personal taste. Go try one on and see what you think.

Up to you based on how it looks, IMO. I have tiny wrists as well, probably the same size ~6.25-6.5 and I max out at 40mm...

A forum full of Rolex enthusiasts will naturally lean towards 42mm being "huge." When you wear a 36-40mm watch for years, anything larger feels unnatural.
If you're a big dude, 42mm if juuuuust fine. When we start talking 45.5 Planet Oceans, or large Panerais, then you've got a debate. |

I like to look at it as it's supposed to be a tad over-sized. The Explorer II is an outdoorsy high visibility reference. I think it gets this point across without being ridiculous at 44 or 46mm.

You'd be fine with a 42. Wrist size is not as important with your frame and height IMHO. If you were 5-7' 140 that would be diff

Try it on.
In my experience, once it is on your wrist you will know if it is right for you. I have 7" wrists and was very happy with my Submariner until I tried on a DateJust. The sub was fine, but the DJ sang to me, and I've been wearing (and loving!) it ever since. Just try it on...

I was torn between 40 and 42 mm, had to try the 42mm two-three times and decided against it. I have 7" wrists but the watch did seem a bit too big, lugs were basically sticking out and maxi dial did not seem to be in balance. So, 40 mm for me!

I am 6 foot 4, 225 pounds, with a 7.5 inch wrist. I think the Explorer 2 42mm looks perfect on me.

It only matters how you think it looks on you.
Some wrist shots would be nice. |

I have a very similar build and can only say that it looked too big on me. In fact, WAY to big. I bought the 39 mm Exp and it a much better fit

I'm 5'11 195 lbs and I think my explorer 42mm looks too slim on my wrist. My buddy is 6'2" 170 lbs and my 41mm DD II looks too big on him. I believe it's about your frame more than height.

I agree. More of frame than height. I am only 5'9" with a 7" or so wrist but rather stocky. Love my Exp II 42mm.
