Correct Vintage Bracelet for Explorer 1655?
Can someone tell me the correct bracelet part number for a 1973 Explorer II 1655? I have owned mine since 1980 and it came with a Jubilee bracelet. I would like to put the original 1973 Oyster bracelet back on, but I am not sure what the correct number is for that year. I have seen others with the 78360 bracelet. I'm not sure if the 78360 is original or a current new replacement (or both).

Wouldn't the 78360 be the NEWEST option, thus not "correct" in terms of age although it would fit??

Mine has been in my family since it was purchased 1973, according to my dad and has the 38xxxxx serial number to match (73-74)
It came new with the 78360 bracelet. |

Well, if and when I sell mine, it'll be for a fair price. These people getting 23 and 24 thousand, that's just damn outrageous.

Your watch would have most likely had the 7836 folded link Oyster bracelet. Although the 7836 folded link with 580 end links was most likely the original type of bracelet the 78360 solid link with 580 end links is far superior and if you wearing your watch regularly I would suggest you use this bracelet as the folded link bracelets are very light and not really suited to a sports watch as heavy as the Rolex 40mm cases IMO. Enjoy your 1655 I know I do |

so the 78360 isn't the factory default bracelet. I'll be damned.

The original bracelets were rivetted approx 71-72 and folded approx 73-77 and solid there after, but nothing is set in stone with Rolex it is all conjecture. |

Thanks for your help everyone. It sounds like the 78360 is the best choice.
