A series ExpII "Swiss" Face designations

Hello All!
I am a new Rolex Owner and Forum Member and I wanted to ask about the various "Swiss", Swiss Made", L Swiss L".... indications on the Face of the 16750 Exp II Models? What is the meaning of the designations... are certain designations more collectable? Thanks very much for the insight!

Would doubt if any modern day Rolex from 1988 on with Swiss Made or any other of the designations would be more collectible.Up till 1960 Rolex used just the word SWISS then the dials were Radioactive Radium. From around early 1960 on Rolex used T.Swiss.T which means less than 277 MBq (7.5mCi) Radioactive, and Swiss <T25 less than925 MBq (25mCi)Radioactive on the dials. This was depending on how much radioactivity they had and was used from 1960 till mid/late 1998.Then the change from Tritium to Luminover type lume dials started with Swiss only on bottom of dial, and was used with from 1998 to 2000, then after around 2000 back to Swiss Made with Superluminovor/Chromalight till present time. And will add you have a A case serial watch Rolex have never made a series on any watch.

Welcome to TRF!

Just adding one thought to your observations of dial types - and this applies to any model. Don't forget that the original watch (no matter what serial number) could have had the dial changed by the Rolex Service Center. The "SWISS", etc. can really get a little mixed up that way with service dials which sometimes carry generic designations.

To add to all already said..

An Explorer II is a 16570.. Since they were not around in the pre-60's, you will not find one with a radium dial. If it says "Swiss" it is a 1998/99 model as they changed from Tritium (T Swiss T) to Luminova (Swiss Made) during that time..

One is not really more collectible than another - yet.
