Ball watches are made in Switzerland, it's an old American brand that has been revived by Swiss and other international interested parties. The brand used to be American family owned (the erm, Ball family...) and were the founders of the American Railway Standard.
The watches are marketed as tough workhorses with fantastic lume. I have a Ball Fireman 43mm automatic, powered by an ETA movement and is accurate to about +6secs/day. The watch itself is built tough and has seen many knocks and adventures. The lume is fantastic and according to the service center, lume may be replaced. In fact, they can replace the entire dial for you if something goes wrong. The new black PVD pieces are also pretty cool and some come with COSC certification. |
