Can you confirm if this is true??
Over the weekend i broke the number one rule and had a look in Tourneau. After looking at some mega priced pre-owned, i ended up trying on a very nice AirKing 18k White gold bezel, Dimonds on the hours. $6050. The thing is though, the sales guy was telling me the price will go up on the 1st of Feb, 10%!! which supprised me. Can this be right?
Thanks from a very confused Cozzer. |

There are rumors that Rolex will increase prices in US due to the weak dollar. But this is only a rumor, and who knows when that will/may happen.

A price increase is rumored, but is not confirmed. It may be likely, however, given recent rate increases in other markets.
The salesman cannot have any knowledge of a price increase, and is simply using scare tactics to close a sale. That does not mean that the price increase won't happen, though! |

Two ADs I've spoken with did not know if there would be an increase. One thought that there might be one, and was thinking around 5%. Bottom line: Rolex hasn't shared that info with anyone.

Ya a couple of ADs I spoke to tended to throw that in when they began to sense I was a "NO-SALE". I'd agree that price increases are still very likely, but don't let that be the swing vote in your decision. Just think of how you would feel about the watch if *GASP* the price didn't budge!

I heard the AD here around my area said that the price will increase earlier 2008. Not sure the exact date/month.

For those in the know, how have Rolex price increases gone in the past? Is there no advanced warning, and one day the prices are higher, or is it announced at some point?
Just curious. |

I think I heard that they get 24-hour notice so that the ADs can let their high-rollers know, but not sure if this is accurate.

My AD has no information on price increases yet, but told me this is the customary time for them to hit, and so is summer. Guess we'll see.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but a gold and diamond air-king seems seriously questionable. You can probably get a TT Datejust for around the same price.
