"Chris has a Rolex..."

I was at a party tonight where my good friend proudly said about her husband, "Chris has a Rolex too... but he can't wear it because the battery died!" Barely containing my laughter I asked if I could see it. When she took it out of her purse and gave it to me. It was really obvious that her's was a fake: for one her's was far too light and flimsy feeling. "How much did you pay?" I asked. "1500 (15000) Philippine Pesos." Which at the time of purchase was equal to about $10 Canadian.

I handed her Rolex and my Rolex. "Why is yours so much heavier?"

"Because mine is real. I don't think Rolex ever made a battery powered watch. Ever."
"I'm so glad you didn't pay more. This is very definitely a fake." When she asked I showed and told her why Chris' Rolex was a fake.

Let's see if you all can spot the real from the fake Rolex. Here are the very two same watches side-by-side.

We don't discuss fakes here and for your information Rolex did and still produces watches with batteries.
