YG Day Date II black concentric dial hard to read?

Has anyone seen the Day Date II black concentric dial in the flesh? is it hard to read in low light? I imagine the Black wave dial is easier to read since it has gold arabic numerals? Every picture I've seen makes the gold arabic numerals "less bright" than the gold roman numerals on the black dial...

I'm looking at a YG Day Date II either in black concentric or black wave. Would love to hear your experience if you own either piece.

I thought about getting a black concentric platinum DD2.

But these pics convinced me otherwise. Really tough to read.

interesting, thanks for the response. Did you end up picking up a day-date II in a different dial?

I was set on the black waves but after seeing the black roman in person I changed my mind.

I love the black concentric dial. It's probably not the most legible watch for sure, but man it's such a great dress piece.

I love it too. One I actually see this at an AD in the flesh and its at all legible in low light, it'll be hard to say no.

Jerry, were you able to compare the black waves and black roman side by side? black roman just speak to you more?

I have the black dial. I rarely use watch for checking time now anyways, since I am always in front of a computer or iPhone.....

I really like the black dial too. I've been trying to decide between the black dial versus one of the ice blue dials for about 2 years now and still can't come to a decision. To answer the OP's question, IMHO the black dial is hard to read the arabic numbers in low light conditions. However, as Tom pointed out in the previous post, would you really use your watch as the primary source to get the time? LOL

In my case, yes I use my watches to tell the time. It's too damn inconvenient to pull my phone out of my pocket or turn off my screensaver to glance at the time.

I find myself looking at my watch more to admire the beauty vs actually telling the time (80/20). However, in low light conditions I might not be able to admire the black dial!

Not fussed on the black myself but the blue is nice. I think for legibility a DD white dial would be hard to beat.

Platinum and ice blue, YG and black, and RG and chocolate, are the best combos imho.

Stop it Mike!! You're making my decision that much tougher!

I think I'll do like patrick and source the "other" dial so I will be able to switch whenever I want to.

Wow, thanks, these pics are great. The dial seems more legible in some pictures than others. For those of you that have seen it in the flesh, is it more or less legible in person relative to the pictures shown here?
