Not my choice of color.

Isn't it amazing how Porsche is a lot like Rolex. Professional instrument heritage. Truly classic design. Many young men's dream car, just like a Submariner might have been there first love/dream watch...

I'd prefer an Aston Martin Vantage cabriolet.

Yes, and in this case they know how to do a 50th IMHO!

1963 examples will be made with special badging.

As a Porsche owner of multiple 911's and most recently a 911 4S, I will honestly say its not singing too me. Lot of chrome and not wild about rims. But hey I'm just one opinion

As a person who has never owned a Porsche, I will honestly say it is singing to me. I don't care about rims, and lots of chrome sounds good. Probably a bit better than my Ford Escort 911. I bought it in September two years ago:)

Dr. Ferdinand Porsche knew what he was doing. What a timeless design: Classic and contemporary at the same time.

Many times Porsche owner, personally I will pass, prefer a 997, and the new boxster and cayman represent more of traditional 911 values. Would take one if offered but prefer porsches of the past, though 50 years is still a credit to them. For the record I dreamed of 911's well before I did a sub. Both have been worth the experience, no complaints on either!

As the wheelbase lengthened my desire waned...had a couple in the 70's & 80's...

I wonder if they simply removed the rear jumpseats and shelf, killed the mass of accessories, and made it 24" shorter??? Oh what a car we could love again.

I have an older 911 and have considered trading up but every time I get ready to make the jump and test drive a new one it just seems too comfortable and I am too far from the rubber hitting the road. Crazy I know for some but a Porsche is for me supposed to be a beast to be man handled and not a car to put on cruise and sip Espresso. Refinement to the point these new 911s are uninteresting to me. Let me foot guide the traction all the day long, not some computer.

Speaking of old Porsches, saw this on the way to work. Had to snap a pic.

If you'd like to see how well your traction control skills are working, the "Chasing the Dragon" hillclimb event is just down the road from you this weekend!
