Watch stopped

Last night I took off my watch at about 9:30pm and when I woke up this morning my watch read 11:45pm. I wore it all day yesterday so I don't understand why this happened, should I be worried? Thanks

I suppose you're referring to your APROO Panda?

Exact same thing happened to mine, brand new piece too. Brought it in to APSC, was told that it was due to the lubricant oils drying up. Took 8 weeks to fix.

You should get it checked out.

I'm assuming you gave it a full wind? Take it to the AP Boutique and have them put it on a timegrapher. Should know quickly what needs to be done next. If you're sending to Clearwater APSC for warranty service, make sure to register it for the 3rd yr warranty.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully, is nothing huge. As Mike says, the boutique will sort it out.

As Mike says, had you given it a full 40 turn wind when you first got it?

Had you been active the days before yesterday?

It might be worth trying a 40 turn wind and seeing how long it runs for without wearing it before starting to panic.

It was strange that you wore it whole day which means the watch has been fully wound on your wrist before you take it off. Just about 3 hours it used up all the winding and came to a halt. Seems a service at APCS seems necessary, but anyway, no worry, AP is such a luxury brand that you would receive good service for your watch.

Sorry this happened to you as I remember you've been wanting this for a very long time. When I first got my RGRc, I had to send it in because of a smudge under the crystal.

But look on the bright side, you could get the 3 years warranty in return.

These things happen to the best of us unfortunately!

At least you know that AP will make it right - and that's what the warranty is for.

So the women there told me that I should wind it 30x or so that wearing it for a few days might not have powered it up... I don't know about that but it seemed like they didn't want to bother with it being I wasn't even asked to take it off. I guess ill leave it off the winder tonight and see what happenes

You could manual wind it yourself. I am not a fan of winder.

Not the best answer for sure, specially on a brand new piece with that price tag.

That sucks Anthony, these things will happen I am affraid, had a similar thing with when my Breitling for Bentley was brand new!
Had to take it back in and it stayed in for a month!
Haven't had any problems with it since.
I am sure it will be fine with your marvellous AP ROO too!
Don't give it up to easily! Your Panda is a fantastic watch man (wish I could wear it!)

Crappy news. Definitely give it a full charge, the winder overnight may not be a good source for maintaining the watch going if it's not the right calibration. Good luck.

Same thing happened to my 15400 just a month old. What was happening was the piece was not holding its power reserve. 3 weeks to the boutique and its been working great ever since. It's a pain in the arse but stuff like this happens.... Just think that it has a solution. Just have patience Anthony.

I had a friend in the industry put it on his watch device which tests the amplitude, he saw it wasoff, it also picked up extra noise in the movement so he thinks a wheel is rubbing. Awesome news! Not lol. I'm going to drop it off tomorrow and tell them the power reserve didn't hold regardless of the out come tonight into tomorrow morning.

sorry to hear... I'd consider sending it directly to clearwater. Not sure about AP but i've heard horrible experiences where boutique damaged customers watches during shipping process.

Good luck!!!

Do you happen to know the amplitude? I'm assuming the "noise" is actually the beat error rate? Not sure how he could tell gears are rubbing with a timegrapher. I agree with Bryant, I'd send it directly to Clearwater rather than risk any additional issues at the Boutique.

That is a pretty small sample size you are using to draw such a broad conclusion.

Good luck!! I believe the watchmaker arrives after 1pm? It may need to go back to Genva. I know another WIS that had PR problems on his RO Perpetual and it took 2 trips to the boutique and about 3 months of time in Geneva.

I know you must be gutted - but once you get it back it will be working as it should have done and this whole incident will be behind you!
