Decision made....233...where to buy?
Hi guys,
So, I've made my decision, I'm going for the 233, I'd like to order it with the Brown Aligator strap, preferably on an adjustment buckle. My question is can anyone recommend the best place to buy in the UK and what's the likely lead time? Oh, and what are my chances of a discount? Thanks, M |

Nice watch. Your chances of a discount are 100% if you buy it from a trusted seller here. Some of them ship to the UK (I know that DavidSW does).

But don't forget to add the 20% VAT to the price if buying from the US..

There's been a few threads on fellow UK members buying "locally" - I suggest you search for those. Please also bare in mind that each Panerai comes with it's own dedicated strap(s) - you can't order yours with any (other) OEM strap - unless, of course, you're prepared to pay for it as well... . Don't fret though, there are many excellent aftermarket strap makers (one of my favorites is in the UK) that will set you up with what you want for your 233

If you buy it from a local AD you should be swap out the buckle for a brown gator and deployant but be prepared to pay a higher price. 233 is a great watch and is an awesome choice. If you need help finding one I can hook you up if you can arrange shipping from the US.

Try out the provided Tunnel strap first and then decide later if you want to buy aftermarket or OEM. Personally, the Tunnel is my favorite on the 233.

Thanks for all the responses guys.
Another thought I've had is that I'll be travelling on business soon and flying out of Heathrow and I see that Watches of Switzerland has stores in T1,3,4. Does anyone know if they would be willing to order a 233 in for me and would it attract a VAT free price I.e 20% off list? Thanks again or all our help. m |

Hi M,
Watches of S. Won't sell Panerai at the airport. Try the AD I told you about via Private Message.

Straight to a seriously beautiful 233. Good luck, post pics when you get it. Hard not to find a fan of the 233 here on this forum. Cheers!

Nice one! You will love the 233.
Re: straps, my experience with ADs is that while they are very stingy with discounts, they will offer a strap or two to sweeten the deal if you ask. Good luck and looking forward to the pix! |

Congrats on deciding to go for the 233!
Panerai don't allow watches to be sold in duty free at all and they can't order one for you either. Your best bet will be to go to any AD as more or less all of them have a 233 in stock. Like someone said above some of the AD's will offer you a free strap to sweeten the deal, so it would be worthwhile ordering the brown alligator as the freebie. I believe an Alligator os around £290 and a leather strap is around £160. Also Harrods will be willing to swap the strap for you to one of the limited ones they have in stock if you wished to do so. |

You could also checkout your local Costco. Someone recently saw a 233 for sale at one.
