Red Dial Sub
I know someone who has a red dial sub and I plan on making him an offer. Im not sure if he would even sell it or not, but I figured I would try. What are these watches bringing? I do not think he knows the rareness of the watch. He has worn it everyday for the past 30+ years! But I do not want to over pay. TRF please help.

Not sure about the papers and boxes. I know that he purchased the watch new. As far as condition... it has been born for the past 30 years but will buff out nicely, I'm sure.

Greg,
It really depends on the condition of the watch. The value of the 1680 RED is in the dial. Service history is an issue as well as meters or feet first etc.... A photo would be most helpfull, but I would say a range between perhaps 6.5K to 11K loose, again depending on condition. |

Sean, I'm talking USD. If the dial is shot and the watch is in need of major repair, sourcing the period correct parts can be costly.
In the states loose examples are going between 10 and 11K. Of course with B&P the price rises. |

As stated, it depends on the condition. A Red 1680 without papers and box, fair condition, sold recently in Denmark for DKR. 55,000 (10,5 K) but in some places they would fetch up to 15 K.
On doubleredseadweller.com there are some articles on the Red Sub, too, if you like to read more about them.
