My conversation with an email scammer
Ok, this is my first posting in this forum though very active in other forums. i should also say that am a fan of different brand of watches, not rolexes, but this rolex forum sure has the best dirt on the scammers and the idiots that post internet fakes and all of that.
I just made a massive bid on ebay item 221240323389 for the heck of it knowing very well that I had seen those photos somewhere else recently. The seller has ID moon.zone. He has 6 positive feedback for items less than $2 each. Then I got this email and rest are the back and forth with the poster. Posting here for entertainment purposes only. I have not edited any and I leave the actual name address and everything else. Ray Hello Goodnight, I am seeing where you made a bid on my IWC watch, I am wondering if you would be interested in doing a buy it now on this item, I am willing to sell it at your highest bid which is $2000 I will cover the shipping charges plus insurance. the reason I am contacting you is because my selling limit on ebay is $1000. For some reason they wont let me sell it over that amount. if you are interested we can do it via paypal. I understand the security that buyers want with ebay, but paypal also have the same amount of security, if there are any issues you can file a dispute or claim, ebay actually owns paypal I just wanted to add that bit of information, Let me know if you are interested. Thank you Regards Timothy - moon.zone Dear moon.zone, I am interested. Please email me your full name, address, and information to send a bank wire. I need your bank name, bank address, routing number and the bank account number. I also need your phone number in case of some issue when trying to send money. My bank is closed now, but I can do this first thing tomorrow when the bank is opened. $2000 is a good price. I am looking forward to the watch. R Dear R, great but I prefer to use paypal its safer for both of us. My name is Timothy Little address is 7730 Steadman St, Dearborn, MI 48126 (313) 846-3429 thats my details but again I prefer for us to use paypal, if you are still interested let me know - moon.zone Dear moon.zone, do you have the watch with you? can you tell me the serial number on the back? did you buy this from a watch shop? which shop? where? can I get an address? do you have rolexes by the way or just this IWC? I prefer to send by a bank wire. can I get the bank information? Also, I need this shipped to my uncle in Lagos, Nigeria. He is working at one of the oil refineries there. he is an engineer, can you ship to Nigeria with proper insurance and tracking, after all many things get lost on the way to Nigeria so don't want to use regular post. Is this possible? how much will that cost? -R Dear R, Yes I have it at home with me right now, the serial number is 3347424. it was purcahsed from IWC dealer in Ft Lauderdale LEVINSON JEWELERS the address is 888 E Las Olas Blvd Fort Lauderdale FL 33301 United States please provide me with your email so i can send you an invoice - moon.zone Dear moon.zone, Can you send me a photo of the back of the IWC guarantee card so I know it is real -R Dear R, what is your email let me send the pictures to you -moon.zone Dear moon.zone, you can attach photos to ebay email system. there is a button click "Attach Photos". its right up there? -R Dear R, i have attached the pictures - moon.zone Dear moon.zone, i meant back of the IWC guarantee card, the white card on your box? can I see the back of that? and thanks for including a photo of the back of IWC Fleigher. That's a different watch, I assume you know that. It is not the back of this Portofino that you are selling. You must have a very large collection. Congrats. The money will be coming tomorrow from my other uncle in the Dearborn prison. He is spending 6 months there for internet robbery and wire fraud. But the money he will be sending is real. He wants your account information, bank name and number. -R (By the way he attached photos that were again from the internet, instead of a IWC Portofino that was listed, he attached back photos of IWC Fleigeruhr) Have not heard from him since 45 mins ago despite emails every few minutes. |
