Rolex on Craigslist: Vintage Submariner, is it real?

I am completely new to watches in general. I saw this watch on craigslist and was wondering if it was real. I have tried to find a watch similar to it. The (for lack of better words) "face" looks similar to some. But the "dial or ring" does not look like anything I have seen in pictures. Im sure you guys would know if this is an actual Rolex. If you do could you please point me in the right direction in finding similar ones so I can find a price and more information about it.
Thanks!

Is that a Yachtmariner, or a Submaster?

The words Rolex and Craigslist really should have been the first clues. I like searching Craigslist for watches. Always good for a laugh!

I once was lucky enough to find a great Sinn 142 original version with correct bracelet on Craigslist for a good price. It will never happen again

Classic:

"We found it in our grandfather safe not sure how to wind it the stem is locked for some reason , but the watch will run for a while if you shake it, it don't have a band and we don't have any papers, first 600 cash gets it or best offer may trade what do you got?"

How about a kick in the head?

occasionally you find a good deal, I missed a vintage oysterdate precision that was all original, but one of the links broke apart and fell off so he said he wanted fair offers. some dude ended up getting it for $220. I was appalled, I felt bad as I was going to offer 500 and I figured that would be too low.
14kt ss datejust with B&P for $1400 I missed because my paycheck got all messed up.
I missed a tudor chrono for $1200 and a vintage tudor sub not sure if it was a snowflake or submariner but he sold it for $2000. and he had a bunch of vintage omegas and a 2000m german dive watch he was asking $250 for the lot. he wouldn't send me pictures and was an hr and a half away and he said if I was interested I would drive out.

I bought my rolex oyster precision, well traded for it in the barter section. and it turned out to be a real gem, atleast to me, but the dial is gorgeous with gold lettering and number track on a black dial, it just seems like a really good deal for price. I traded my cbr900rr that I had bought, parents said it had to go, I paid 1600 for it, so in the end I think I lucked out. made my parents happy getting rid of the bike, got my first rolex, which I was happy. and I wouldn't trade it for anything

Agree. Have a buddy who picked up pointed crown guard Tudor Sub 7928 on Craigslist. Paid IIRC $1800 for it. Sold it for around $6000.
