Needing some expert advice regarding my possible future Pepsi

I have been looking for a Pepsi GMT for some time, and I have looked a lot online, but am always skiddish about buying a watch I have not seen in person and tried on. My local AD called me today, says has purchased a 2001 GMT "Coke Bezel" today from a private seller and wanted me to check it out. He says it is in immaculate condition, and though he has seen the movement and it appears to be in excellent running shape, it has not ever been serviced. He has offered me a cash price of 5K straight up, no tax, out the door, with a full service included and 2 year warranty....all I would need to do would be to come up with a pepsi bezel to have the watch Ive been wanting, which he said he will change out for me no cost as well....my questions are:

1. Does this sound like a good deal for this watch based on year assuming I find it to be on the shape he says it is (ive bought 3 other rolexes from him and trust him very much)

2. Is there any difference in watches initially shipped with the "Coke" vs "pepsi" bezel other than the bezel itself...ie could you tell this was an original "coke" with a pepsi bezel inserted later by looking at the watch?

3. Can ADs order pepsi bezels from Rolex or not since they are discontinued? What is a fair price for a NOS bezel?

Any other comments welcome....thanks in advance....if I get pics Ill post them...

GMT watch inserts are all interchangeable on the Sapphire models.. You can put any color in you want and most Dealers should sell you one without issue..

Some get their wires crossed and assume that they can only sell you the colors you have, but this is not true with a couple of exceptions.. (16760 and 16700)

An insert is about 50-75 bucks installed from a Dealer.. On the Internet they are asking astronomical prices..

Thanks....does this price seem reasonable with service for this model....I've seen some for less, but they seem to be older ie earlier 90s models and of course I can't see them in person before buying....also, dealer doesn't have to keep old bezel to insert a new one do they? (Not that I think mine would do that even if most did...advantage of smaller town AD who knows most customers by first name)

I think $5k for a 2001 with full service and 2 year warranty is a very fair price.

If you were searching to buy for a GMT Coke, you would have most probably been in the loop on the prices.
It seems to me that you would buy this watch for the wrong reasons, except only for the price being right

5K for a mint service GMT from 2001 seems like a very fair deal.
If you were on the look, you should take it.
If it is an impulsive buy, and you can afford it, take it as well.
You can still flip it if you don't like it.

On the bezel issue; you can change it to any color you want.
That is the great thing on the 16710. you can sport 3 different watches in 1 before you get tired of it

Good luck on you decision!
