My AD offered me a small discount on BNIB Daytona?

Help needed,

I've purchased 3 watches from my AD in one year.
They know i wanted to buy a new white face Daytona but I was bidding on Rolex launching a new design which didn't happen.

I love Daytona just like most of you but a bit not excited spending 12 k for it.

I have to admit that for some reason Daytona is more available this year than any other(I could be mistaken).

What does the TRF guys think?

It's been readily available fo quite some time now and no, I wouldn't pay $12k for a Daytona.

I was asked to "make an offer"!
I was going to ask for 10% off.
I was given 8-10% off my previously purchased sport watches(sub LVc and GMT2c)?!!

Don't buy it unless you love it. It's an expensive piece, and a discount sure helps!

The used one is somewhere between 10k to 11k, so if you can get 10% off, and find a way to avoid tax, it is still a pretty good deal. Otherwise check out sale forum, I am sure these trusted seller will have a good one for you. It is a beautiful watch, have to have one in your collection at one time at least. Good luck!

I would only buy it if you really love it. A 10% off would be cherry on top

I wouldn't buy it for 6000. Too small and boring.

Now the TT offerings, quite interesting.

Just my opinion.

Cheers!

I'm pretty sure that wasn't at Ben Bridge!

Well bought.

I still think the Daytona is the best looking watch Rolex makes.

what are the other 3 you bought? i ask bc it may help determine whether your current watches reflect the style of a daytona. may be able to see if you'll keep it. example, if you have no pcls, you may not like the daytona. or if you like dive watches, you may not like the daytona enough to keep it (blah, blah, blah).

as for the price, for a rolex daytona, its average imo. nothing to rush in to. i would even go used bc most daytonas are babied and you could get one from a TS here for about $8.5 - $9.5k selling prices (not asking). less for 2t models.

good luck

Offer the AD 9500, that's about 20% off.

All they can do is say No.

I agree, the AD did say make an offer...even if he goes to a 15% discount that's well bought for BNIB from an AD. Who knows, you may just get the 20%, it's not insultingly low..

Never hurts to ask. If they said make an offer that shows the willingness to work with you. Maybe they want to turn the inventory faster. They do have a quota to meet.

I wouldn’t pay retail for any Rolex there are plenty of smaller dealers out there that need the business. 12% or better on SS with no tax is about standard I have seen with out of state dealers and 25% or better on precious metal models. Walk in with cash... that always helps.

Sorry if this thread is a little dated, but I'm in the market. An out of town dealer offered me a bnib random serial for 11k no tax after a little haggling. They rejected my initial 10k offer. Every other dealer I call stated that they did not have it in stock. I'm guessing this is on the higher range from what I've been reading in this thread...

Take it and run with it. I tried the next month to make an offer on BNIB SS daytona and all the sudden not a penny discount. Same ad sane salesperson. This is the untold end of this story

Quick question, how can you buy without tax if you buy it in person in the store?

Rolex allows AD's to knock off AT LEAST 15% and 30% on closeouts. Don't pay more than this. None of these watches are rare. You can always find another.
