116710 Caseback on 116610

Has anyone tried retrofitting a GmtC caseback on a subC? I understand it would reduce possible dive-depth, but would have the benefit of keeping the watch more flush with my bony wrist...

Thx, M

Not sure if that can be done? Have you tried making the necessary adjustments with the links & clasp in order to get the proper fit?

There wouldn't be too much difference. I wouldn't go fiddling. You'll be hard-pressed to find one and then the watch will have to be pressure tested again. Sounds like a lot of hassle. Why not just sell the Sub and get a GMT? If you're not worried about depth rating and you want a slimmer profile, maybe it's time for a different watch

The case of the GMTc is actually recessed more where the back screws on, so just changing the caseback will only get you a very tiny change.. likely unnoticeable in use..

Thank you gents, I will leave this one alone then. I like the look of the sub the most, but once on my wrist, the gmt fits so much better....figured the caseback was the solution. Will go for gmt instead.

Cheers, M
