Considering a Panerai (219 maybe?)

Hey everyone,

I've been growing increasingly interested in Panerai recently, and after waiting long enough to ensure I wasn't going through a phase as I do with many watches/manufacturers, I'm seriously considering my first Panerai

With this being said, one model that has really gotten my attention is the 219. As a lefty, I think it would be a unique and cool watch to own. While it's an awesome piece, I do wish it were less "base" looking, as I feel like there are many other models within a similar price range that have more going on on the dial that aren't destros (the 104, for example).

Basically, I'm trying to decide whether to go for the 219 since it's the only watch from a manufacturer I love that is specifically designed for leftys or if I should go for a model that I like the look of more that has the crown on the right. Any opinions or suggestions are much appreciated!

Just for reference, I'm trying to stay at or below $5k (used, and the cheaper the better!), but I might stretch that slightly for an in house movement model or another destro model that is discontinued.

Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation. I've seen a few destro models but not that one...looks sick

Any idea how much a used one would set me back? I did a quick search and didn't see much. My guess would be more than the $4-5k that I want to spend but like I said for the right model I'd stretch that a bit...

I'm a lefty, and have my watch on my right hand, and I prefer the normal models because it keeps the crown guard out of the way when I bend my wrist. I would never wind my watch while wearing it so that's not an issue for me...

219 would be perfect in that price range. Unique too, and I like the clean dial.
The 368 is my all time favorite of the Destro models but pricey as well.

Just but it doesn't seem like the destros move fast on the used market. So get it if you don't think you'll be moving it out of the collection or just accept that it may take much more time to sell than regular models.

if you "need" a destro, click on this link and sort by "destro" to see the options.

EDIT: i'm not sure why the 219 isn't on that list, but i *think* all the other left-handed ones are.

Good suggestions/points from all of you. Thanks for the input! I'll have to think about whether a destro is worth it from a resale perspective (I do have a tendency to flip, and when I do so I like to at least break even) and if I do get one I'll have to figure out whether or not a higher end destro model is with the cash...that 123 in particular is very nice! I'll keep you all posteda
