My watches will go to my son before I die and anyways...I plan on being cremated and my ashes spread in the garden. I would hate see fine mechanical watches placed in an urn and stuck up on a fireplace mantel somewhere or in a vault at the cemetery.....

Well, better to have the watch in front of the headstone rather than 6' under it.

Wow...not going to think about that for me!

But do wonder how many Rolexes are buried each year...

I've hear they can turn your cremated ashes into a diamond using the same process of creating synthetic diamonds (heat and pressure).
Sounds pretty cool to me!

Thanks for your comments - I thought I would get a mixed bag of replies. BTW my collection will go to my sister, as I'm single.

That's certainly a different type of watch box for long term storage!

Here's hoping the second date on that headstone won't need to be filled in for a very, very long time.

I shall have my ashes put in a vintage Grandes Complications pocket watch which shall then be thrown at the bottom of the Atlantic sea, my apologies to whoever would have loved to own said watch...

Why would anyone want to get buried with a watch?

Pass it on the someone who'll appreciate the piece(s)

PM me if you are in the charitable mood :) applying for 501(c)(3) status :)))

Kind of like those people that get so attached to their vehicle and want to be buried in it. Not for me. I'll pass.

Being laid to rest with my Rolex would finally give me a decent reason to get a winder.
