Icon17 Also Need help with my first Rolex Purchase -->pics inside

I have tried on Sub's and GMT II, as well as yacht master and the Daytona. It seems that both the Daytona as well as the Yachtmaster feel really nice on the wrist, but I don' like the Daytona because it's missing the Date, and the yachtmaster is nice but the one i like doesn't have the ceramic Bezel.

I like the the sub and the GMT II but both feel a little big and bulky. I mean I like the weight but it still doens't feel like the Daytona and yachtmaster.

So, If I go out on a limb, that the Daytona doesn't have a Date because most guys are retired who wear Daytona's?

and, Why not ceramic Bezel ont he Yachtmaster that I like?

The Daytona does not have a date because Rolex does not make it that way
I am far from retired and love wearing my Daytona
Many women wear a Daytona and they are far younger than I am
I have no need to know the date on my wrist, most of my watches have no date
I like the look without a date, the dial is cleaner and the cyclops is disturbing, I own two Rolex watches without a date

The watch is an icon and speaks for itself

I prefer the SUB - C and GMT II - C over all other rolex watches and its because of my love for ceramic black bezel. Own both and I am quite happy with both. See Pics below. The sub is a little more bulky than the GMT but the glide-lock clasp is absolutely awesome especially during the summer. I think the GMT sits better on the wrist. The sub has been my daily beater for over a year now and I have accumulated some wear and tear. I just got the GMT but plan to wear it occasionally to keep it looking new.

I dont think you can't go wrong with either. I am not a daytona fan or the one that I like is out of my price range at this point (ceramic bezel version). I am not a big fan of the platinum bezel on the yachtmaster.

Fairly sure the Daytona doesn't have a date because it's traditionally a racing chronograph - no need to know what today's date is when you're at the track and measuring split second laptimes.

Go with the Yacht-Master. Best looking watch.

Platinum > Ceramic :)

I have two Daytona, neither am I retired.

I mostly refer to my Smartphone for Date if I wear a Daytona, no issue, because the phone has everything in it

I've not heard the retired Daytona connection before.

i think the Submariner Date is way more of a icon. I feel like a Rolex isnt a ROlex without the cyclops lol (Just my opinion) I like the daytona but its just not my style. I had the Plat. YM but with the silver dial. Its a beautiful watch but the polished middle links with attract scratches very easily. Love the new Blue Dial though.

Just quietly between you and me, you might want to climb back in from that limb.

I suspect the date-Daytona-retiree link is looking rather tenuous!

Don't force yourself to make a decision. Give it more time and keep trying on watches. Eventually one will stand out.

I will choose subc since it has ceramic insert and date function. I am not a big fan of leather strap.
