Hi guys,

This question is for those of you who wear TT Subs on a daily basis. Are you satisfied with bracelet wear and tear? I am wondering if daily routine will be too much for the gold parts of the watch. If you have a picture of 5+ year watch that is a TT Sub, that would be awesome.

Trying to decide on a SS Sub or TT Sub (black/gold)! Thanks!

I am a new owner of a TT Sub Bluesy, but I got it to be a daily wearing watch, even though I am now considering an SS as an alternative. I CAN say affirmatively that the daily routine will NOT be "too much for the gold parts of the watch." Will they get scratched? Yes! The "patina" of a well loved and used personal watch is part of its charm!

Your decision must be based on which one you like best. Either will be a highly rugged watch that will last for decades with basic care and routine maintenance! Go see my friends at Jade Galore if you want a decent deal on a new Rolex from an AD!

I've worn my TT Sub for "almost" 24/7 for 7 years. It is in fantastic shape. Prior to that, I wore my SS the same way for over 10 years. Same deal.

Have worn a two tone sub. for 20+ years and had to replace one end link the gold mysteriously came off of and have a link which is
wearing alot but other than that its not bad for the time!

I have a tt bluesey but after noticing it was starting to suffer as a result of daily wear in a manual / retail environment I got SS sub for everyday wear and had the tt blue refurbished and it now comes out for social occassions.
Both watches can stand the mistreatment it's just a case of whether your conscience can!!

I have a TT blusey which I wore daily and to places and to do things which I probably shouldn't have, but the net result is no ill effects. A little patina is all, no noticeable stretch. This too, on a pre-solid center link bracelet.

I too, now reserve Bluey for dressier occasions and use a SS GMT IIc for daily stuff.

Don't think twice about wearing a TT Sub every day. I wore mine for over 10 years and it polished up like new. You won't wear it out!

I rotate my watches, and my TT Sub is a "U" Series (almost 10 years "new"). I usually wear it under a long sleeve shirt, so it gets some protection from the "desk diving" that I do.

I don`t have TT Sub(yet!),but my friend does.He wear it every day,with jeans and t-shirt or with the suit.

Maybe the "TT Blue Sub Ambassador", JJ, will chip in with his own experience with the TT Blue Sub? But I don't recall him reporting any problems, so I guess you'd be safe buying it.

Wore my TT sub every day for 10 years. No problems at all. If you want to polish the center links every now and then you can do that by taping off the satin steel areas and gently polishing the center links with a Cap Cod Cloth. Then pull off the tape and you have totally polished center links. Don't do it too often because you are loosing gold.

Take a look at my "post-service" pictures I posted and see what you think. I wore my TT 99% of the time for the last 8 years. Service will bring it all the way back.

My TT Blue Sub IS my daily wearer for both business and pleasure. Had it 2 1/2 years now, no worse for the wear in any way. I would highly recommend the TT Blue Sub - there's just something about it! Best of Luck.

For normal daily wear, no problem at all. Yes, gold can and will get scratched unless you can be extra careful (like me!!)

Other than that, the hollow gold links are reinforced with solid steel pins inside the links and encased in sleeves. These prevent friction between gold parts and can extend the life of the gold links.

I've read nothing but success stories from members who have worn their TT watches daily. I say go for it

From what I have seein on the net and over all, the SS sub would out live the TT sub. 40 or 50 years from now your stainless steel sub will still be good and the bracelet will be fine as well (if taken care of) as for a TT sub, after 25 years you will prob need a new bracelet for sure... On the other hand I was thinking of getting the LV sub, But I was thinking, will they still have green inserts 25 years from now letalone the maxi dial if I need to replace those parts? I don't want to take the chance on that one.. It seems the standard black dial SS sub is the most safe and strong choice. But if you really take care of your watches then blusey will be okay. Gold is softer as you know so it wears down after time or you get stretch.. JJ is right about the metal pins with sleevs in the center links on the whole bracelet. I called rolex and asked how much new bracelets run for the TT sub, They said as of now with the price of gold being so high but remember this price is before their price increase their about to have. $3,000.00 with the trade in of your old bracelet. If the shape is really really bad on your traded in bracelet then it will be more than 3000. they also charge you an additional $160 per extra link you get. the new bracelet does not come with those extra links.. so it will cost you a pretty penny to fix it up more so than a SS sub just keep in mind. gold is $$, if it was me and the watch was worn down that much i would say time for a trade in, inless the watch had meaning to me then i would fork up the cash to fix it. but IMO and fact, SS lasts longer than gold.

Do not wear your watches lose as that will cause more stretch in the band. wear them snug (per rolex)
give their service center's a call any time you have questions they will answer all... I do all the time.

I have worn my TT GMTII almost daily since gett8ng it a year ago. Bracelet is at about 90%. Someone is going to get the pleasure of using it, it may as well be me!

Thanks for posting guys. Now I am totally torn between what I would say "in your face" TT which most people will recognize from a mile away or a Sub w. no date on a NATO strap. I guess I'll take 'em both :)

I have a breitling to wear as my everyday watch. it's a solid SS watch and it's strong to.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a TT sub myself. (Will post pictures next week when my add get's it in) I'm going to keep it in my safe and only wear it once in a while... My breitling I will beat up..
