Sand in bezel

I was on a beach today with my dssd that had really fine sand. The bezel seemed to turn hard after that. Anyone have experience with something like this? What is the guidance on sand?

Warm water and soap, let it soak and turn bezel while submerged should free up the sand under the bezel...

One of the bad things associated with the new ball-bearing system of Rolex bezels on their new models. With my 16600 SeaDweller, I just pop-off the bezel and clean underneath and then snap the bezel back on. This can be a common problem while diving. Unfortunately, with the new models this is not a feasible task with the end-user.

It will work its way out over time - but if it is a big bother, just drop into an AD to see if they can pop off and steam clean the backside of the bezel.

This is my issue with the newer models.. The "diving" component is pretty much gone with the new bezel.. Not only do you have to go to a watchmaker to have the bezel removed to be cleaned and it's ceramic ...

I was wondering about sand in the new bezel system. I'm on the beach all the time.
Too bad.

Oh no. Your DSSD is ruined. Send it to me and forget it ever happened. I'm so sorry.

That's because you need the Sand-Dweller model...it can handle a little sand.

My biggest pet peeve with my Deepsea's bezel is that it turns to easily, meaning on it's own. No other dive watch I've ever owned rotated so easily. How or when, I have no idea, I just happen to look down at some point and there it is anywhere from 3-5 minutes off where I set it.

I liked having some sand stuck in mine b/c for the rest of that day the bezel didn't turn so easily.

I just wore in the shower....all good after that

I was thinking pop the bezel off until I read it was a new ceramic.

I was just on the beach on vacation... Flight back tonight.. I did experience a little sandiness in my bezel of my DSSD... But after a good run through the pressure soaker by the pool and a good warm water with soap. it was good as new!

Out of curiosity, Where were you??? I was in Clearwater Beach, FL

I was at the beach all weekend with my 16600, and didn't have a problem with sand in my Bezel, just everywhere else.
