Home Security/Monitoring Systems Recommendations?

Hello all,

I'm looking for a security system with four or five outdoor cameras, a couple indoor ones, with all the bells and whistles (email alerts, motion sensors, remote viewing, infrared night vision, freeze frame, USB/Flash drive capabilities, etc.) I already have an alarm system in the house, but I am looking for video monitoring and storage. Anyone have any recommendations for quality systems? Might be a long shot but this site has such a broad and diverse range of members I thought someone might have some good information on this. Thanks!

Mike

I think there are alarm companies that actually have this feature and will install for you so it's all 1 system. I've definitely seen advertisements for them.

That's probably your best route so they handle everything.

If you really want to add a deterrent, just have a large dog roam the premises...I hear thieves don't like loud barking nor like getting their arms used as chew toys

look into ADT Pulse. They give you cameras and you can view the video feed online.

Custom Security Systems in Cinnaminson NJ.

Mike Tuscano.

Mike did my entire system, even recommended a guy who was able to service the gate/intercom system in my driveway.

He is not an ADT chain type setup where they give you the equipment for free and then kill you on the monitoring. He sells and installs the system, then you can use his service or anyone else's for monitoring.

He is an independent business owner, and a great source for information. Even if you decide to have someone else do it, talk to Mike to get honest answers as to what you do and don't need, and how to properly integrate the system.

I have bought a whole range of systems from these guys in Illinois and have always been pleased with their level of service.

This type of independent type business / service is what I've used for home and office. You pay for the system upfront but don't killed on monthly fees.

I have 2 of the dropcams. Love them! I tried 2 other cameras but connectivity was sporadic. The dropcams have had great connectivity, easy setup, easy remote viewing, phone notification.

Exactly.

And if you are not happy with the monitoring you can switch to another provider at no cost.

We have a ones story executive style ranch house. 18 ground level windows, and three entry doors. We had all the windows and doors done, full motion detection, glass break, and two controllers installed. we have a combination wired and wireless.

Mike gave us options for cellular back up, camera's, cell phone monitoring, and incorporating our existing intercom and gate system (our driveway is 550 feet long and you cannot see the entry from our house) into the new system. He did an awesome job of integrating some of the previous home owners old technology into our new system. Cost was very reasonable.

We had all this done six months ago and it works fantastically. Set off the alarm, they call instantly.

When I was on the job as a,LEO the two companies that were CONSISTENTLY professional and helpful and very well trained were Brinks and ADT. The rest were dangerously incompetent to minimally exceptional. There was one called Protection One out of Dallas that was also very good, but I don't know if they are national.

And a simple BEWARE OF DOG sign in windows and on back gate world well too. Assuming burglars can read of course.

Best anti theft device I ever saw was on a Stop n Rob that kept getting hit. Owner got fed up and posted signs that said in several languages and with diagrams: THIS BUILDING PROTECTED BY LIVE REPTILES.

Burglaries stopped immediately.
