Incoming ?

Incoming.....aging on the horizon

While picking up some toothpaste in the local drugstore today.... I had the notion to try on a pair of these ...

Well it seems i dont need them, I just see better with them is all!

Im almost 50 and have avoided them up until now, im occasionally called on by my friends to read the menu to them when out at a restaurant .... You know the trendy places that keep using smaller and smaller type on the menus, along with ever dimmer dimmer lighting!.... que sera sera

Anyone else trying to make the adjustment?

Ps up side, my watches never looked so good!!!

I'm on the cusp of this myself. Use them for computer work and another pair for seeing far / driving at night. Might have to full time soon.

Yep, Gus I have a few pair around the house. Sooner or later I have to go get real ones but I do use those... could be worse I guess.

Lust for Life by Irving Stone!

What a great book.

A fictionalized biography of Vincent Van Gogh.

I read it back in the mid-Seventies when I was still reading fiction.

Thoroughly enjoyable.

Nice specs!

I went in to the eye-doc 3 years ago, probably 25 years after my last eye exam, things are more blurry now, more susceptible to glare at night, can no longer differentiate left from right nut on a fly at 1000 yards. My eyes are down to 20/20.

But in the last year I have been avoiding reading glasses like the plague. I think my interest inspecting details on watches has had as much to do with it as just turning 45.

Sucks but it was actually keeping me from reading books for fun.

As for the Internet on the 'puter, very easy to hold down CTRL button while spinning the mouse wheel...

The grey hair started in my early 20s - never much made me feel old(er) - reading glasses is another story

I started using reading glasses when I was about (I'm 57 now). At first I only needed them in very dim light. A year or two later I needed them only when indoors. Now I wear no line bifocals 80% of the day.
It's amazing how well I can still see when I'm in bright sunlight.
Glasses are a sign of aging. It could be worse.

Oh yes great book. The agony and ecstasy(Michelangelo) is even better and my all time fav book

No specs for me yet(36) but even I'm noticing getting closer to my computer.

I started wearing readers at 48(50 now). I only need +1.

I just bought a pair of Maui Jim readers(sunglasses with built in magnification). Highly recommended!
