it looks kinda...trashed, no?
I mean the brushing is uneven in places, watch looks worn out now. I would have just sold it and bought a different watch all together, I mean, how many models of all brushed ss watches does rolex make? |

Not happy with scratches on my Daytona, but will keep it stock for now.

I agree, doing this to a Daytona ruins it, a much better choice is to simply get something else that you do like. It's your watch though so you can do what you like but be aware that people who know the Daytona well will likely think its a fake when they see it looking like that at first glance...

That's a pretty interesting brush technique. Have more photos?

The brushing on the bezel looks very uneven and not something a watch maker would have done-honestly it looks like you cleaned it with a scotch brite pad? What happened? I agree a brushed Daytona would seem like a good idea but the exp ii bezel should be used as a reference when brushing unless that cannot be achieved outside the factory?

I agree with what others have said here ... I'd be looking at having RSC polish it now

Looks nice. Pay no attention to the nay-sayers.
If you've had it for years, it is clearly a watch you had no need/desire to sell. Besides, what has been done can always be undone. |

Weren't Daytonas all brushed for 30 years give or take before this PCL business came along?
Personally, regardless of the quality of this particular job, I think the brushed look suits the watch far more than PCL's |

I have to agree. If you are not pleased with your work then I would suggest sending it to RSC for re-polish and then selling it. It is too bad that Rolex does not offer the brushed Daytona.

It's your watch and your money, but I have to say, IMO, it ruins the look of the watch.

"Ruins" is purely subjective, and you're enjoying the watch now (wearing it), so I'd say, kudos!

For me, the only thing I'd brush are PCLs. But the only thing that really matters is how you feel about your watch, I'm glad you like it! Wear it in good health, the Daytona is a beaut.

A brushed look for the Daytona would be nice, but IMHO, looking at the picture, this looks like a bad job. Sorry. But you are happy and that matters most

Wouldn't have been my choice, but having said that, its not my watch and its meant to be worn.

As long as you are happy...
I also like the polished/brushed combination of the modern Daytonas. I would love to have a PN one day in all of it's brushed glory but that's another thing altogether. |

Brushing out the PCLs would have been enough for me to enjoy it, but to each his own. If you went from never wearing it, to loving it now, then it's all worth it! Personally, I would have just sold it and found an all-original watch that appealed to me.

Does not look bad at all. You always have the option to polish in the future. Kudos to you for creating a watch that you enjoy!
