Tudor Test Drive ...
Thanks to an enabler or two I stopped by my AD this morning to look over the Pelagos. It lived up to expectations, all business, all tool, no nonsense watch. It was the first Titanium watch I ever handled and inspite of the light weight felt very solid. I have been thinking of picking up 14060m two liner but this "two liner" may be a better choice considering I have a LV and SD.
In fact I was thinking of getting the credit card out when I remembered the Black Bay and asked to see one, mistake ! I know most watches look better in the metal but the BB really looks so much better in the metal than any pictures. To cut to the chase my brain says Pelagos, and my heart says Black Bay. Promised myself I'd give it two weeks before making any decision. May very well end up with both over time, they are that good, imho. In the meantime I have two quick and dirty shots from the AD to keep me going. |

Go with your heart. For me watches are an emotional connection. Whenever I've based purchases on "logic", they've been flipped.

Black Bay...for its "out of the norm" aesthetics. But, then again, in keeping with Mike's comment, that's just my "emotional connection." Yours may be different.

I agree with the Black Bay....Saw one today for the first time in the metal. The dial is really beautiful and the red bezel is a deeper red than the pics show.
The rest of my thoughts about the whole line up are .....they are all cool / nice looking watches...but non of them really "wowed" me except for the Black Bay The Grantour Chrono is pretty nice too |

Thanks and good eye. I took it in Tudela, Spain. We had just watched their version of the running with the bulls and we were watching the young men trying to put rings on the cow's horns. Funny, they didn't use bulls for that! We didn't stick around for the bull fighting later that night.

Honeybear, those are some great shots. Right now my plan is that my next watch will be a SubC but I can honestly say that I would choose a Pelagos over a SD or DSSD. With a SubC, the Pelagos is different enough whereas a SD would look almost the same watch and DSSD is just too much watch for my puny wrist.
