What is missing?

This is a Rolex box circa 1970. What is missing from the inside of the box? I know the watch but what is supposed to go in the slots? I am trying to get as original box and manuals for DD as possible.

Does the green part with the slots hold the book under the part that holds the watch? The box comes with leather document holders but not the watch holder.

The watch is supposed to fit into the notches of that green cutout.

The slots are where you put the watch on. The President has a specific box and thats not it. What year is your DD?

It should be one of the big leather boxes with belt for a DD of the period.

Err buddy Earl...there is nothing missing from that old Rolex box of yours...except maybe the watch itself...

Point of order; it is not my box. It was listed on FleeBay and I didn't buy it when I found out it was not a DD box. I am attempting to get a 1970 DD back to as original as possible. I did buy an owner’s manual for a non-quickset DD. Don’t ask how much, it’s embarrassing.

Did the DD have a leather box with the belt way back then? Does anyone have a picture of a DD box circa 1970?

Sweet that looks very much like the modern ones. I blew a chance to pick one up for $140 because it was new and I thought it wouldn’t go with a 70s DD.

Err buddy Earl...here's other examples of DD box...

But these as new ones...Orchi believes could be for Gold Submariners...or other Gold Sport watches...

Here's another old one for Men's DD...which is as new.

Here's one for the Old version box of Lady's President gold watches...also as new.
