I'm sure a lot a people will disagree with me but I fail to see how a minor member of the British Royal family would influence someone to buy a Rolex.

Rolex has taken a wrong turn on this one.
They should have just given her the cash to NOT be a part of the advertising.

Rolex wants to build an image, thats fine I guess just so long as they make good watches. The problem with an image is that people then believe the advertising hype and stereotype a Rolex wearer according to the advertising image portrayed.
Now I don't really care what people think, I guess stereotyping is not a problem with the advertising, the problem is more with some people who believe the hype of an advertising campaign. Thus, as has been said I would prefer if Rolex didn't have a campaign based on wealth, royalty etc. However, I guess they need 'a face' and that is all it is 'a face' it has little to do with the quality of the watch and how it is made.
