Platinum Daytona...STOP THE PRESSES!!!

I really wasn't all that impressed with this watch until an acquaintance of mine posted this picture recently. I can't get over just how beautifully this watch really is in a live picture

See Chris's blog here. http://www.bexsonn.com/

I for one really like the platinum Daytona, I wanted to see pictures of the actual watch before being able to judge it and when I saw it I was impressed.

I love it as well from the hi-res pics but imagine it will look even much better in the metal.

Loved it since day one! Just told DavidSW that for me it has to rank amongst the top 5 in modern Rolex color ways! A true beauty in the flesh!

I agree and also loved it from day one except the price of course! The glacier blue and brown for me perfect color combo!

I am not sure, he has one now, however, I did not bother to ask what his asking price was since it's not in my budget at the moment...

Me too, but at the price point that this one will be at, there are other watches I'd go for first.
The color combo is really quite unique.

There is no doubt that is a sweet looking watch. The price is just is a bit much, however. Looking forward to seeing member pics of this beauty.

Lovely color but a very different choice for Rolex. It will be a standout for many years to come with that price tag + and scarcity value inflation. Can't find the actual link in Chris' blog but even the small pic shows the stunning color contrast.

I owned a brand new one from my AD in SS/black. Whether it is made of platinum, gold or stainless, whether the dial is black, blue or white, mother of pearl or from outer space, my old eyes can not read the tiny, minute subdials, no date, poor lume and no sweeping second hand. And the colors - well to each their own. It really comes across as a 'designer Rolex' IMHO. Looks good when the time and light is right and will never be worth what it sells for new. Not bashing, just speaking my opinion!

Chris will be along to reply to this thread. I'm sure he will point us in the right direction in his blog. He is a newly joined member here on TRF, and he asked me to post his picture for him since he doesn't know his way around here yet. He said he tried-on this watch at a Rolex event and was BLOWN AWAY.

It very well may join my collection but I'm waiting for lower prices. Besides I'm looking for a deal on a YG YM2 at the moment. One watch at a time my friend.
