Help

I have gone off wearing my Rolex and other brands since I got my beater watch after 20 plus years of wearing Rolex.

I find it so much easier to put on my beater and not to worry about the day to day activities, banging, scratching and damaging the watch. Even at weekends I just rather to wear my beater than my other watches.

Have to agree and whats the point of buying a Rolex if you are afraid to wear it just encase to scratch it.Myself have used and often abused my SD when it was used as a working tool with well over 600 hours underwater salt and fresh.Yes it picked up a few battle scars over the many years of use,and when serviced watch almost as good as new only to get scratched again.Rolex watches are meant to be worn and used on the wrist where they belong.

After 20 years you are still worried about scratches?

Well all people are different and some just like the things they treasure and love to be as perfect as possible. I could just use one of my watches as a beater but I won't. I am sure some of you here, like me, like their watch to be free from scratches and dings.

I think that some of the best Rolex watches I see on this board are the old classic GMT's and Subs that are old, have battle scars and bruises. Those watches have such character and tell such an amazing story. Just my opinion.

I have never owned anything in my life that took the abuse my submariner did.
Except of course for my physical self & perhaps my ever broken heart.

Whilst I would tend to wear any of my Rolexes without too much concern, I would still show some discretion and initiative dependent upon the task in hand, and would not put the vintage ones through unnecessary hardship or abuse, particularly when these things are 30 plus years old. Main thing is to enjoy them though!

Sell you current beater and designate you most worn Rolex as your new beater!
