For all the Mercedes-Benz AMG fans

My friend just came back from a two day trip at Willow Springs International Raceway experiencing the best of Mercedes AMG. Enjoy!

The Best of Mercedes-AMG

Cheers,

Great stuff. The new CLA45 is fascinating in a "wolf in sheep's skin way" like an unassuming fly under the radar SS DJ with rich history and great power beneath its hood! Love it!

They call it 4Matic and they are doing it so they can get all that power to the road in a controlled manner. The E63 was the first to get 4Matic. Its an option in Europe but standard in the States.

Yeah I have the W211 E63 (rear wheel drive) and its great to have all the power, but its somewhat unusable from a stop... severe wheel spin and traction control intervention if you give it more than about 1/4 throttle...

In normal driving (comfort mode) the car wont even use 1st gear, all starts are from 2nd gear to help mitigate the issue.

I'm on my way to Vegas to do an AMG Performance Event day...I don't think I'll have my new Root Beer GMT for it but it should be a lot of fun anyway.

S52 Read the stickies on MBForum.org

I have the same car and learned a whole lot from the "how to drag race" in that forum. I then practiced these techniques often at our local drag strip... A real blast.

I want that E63 Wagon so bad. My wife lusts after the medical car every time it's shown while watching F1

I bought one

I thought I'd be going to Vegas to decide which AMG to buy next; instead I bought one before going to the track... 2012 SLS Roadster... What a ride!

1/4 mile

Depending on...everything, I usually do 12.6. My best time at the same track (Mirabel) is 12.394. That's one of 2 published on tracktimes.com.

That was ridiculous. Usually with an R1 its just assumed that the bike will catch and pass the car. Not in this case. Completely awesome.

It is wonderful to discover other MBZ AMG enthusiasts amongst out TRF members! Quite frankly, I have been exceedingly happy with my Mercedes Benz AMG E63. The snap your neck, aggressive performance and predatory growl of this very refined vehicle is breathtaking.

AMGs rule... period. A German muscle car. And nothing is more special than their hand-built V8s. Nothing.
