Keep the Hulk or Flip for a 16613?

I currently have the two watches pictured. I'm considering flipping it for the Hulk. The biggest thing holding me back is the fear that I will miss the Hulk shortly thereafter. I know a lot of you will say "keep the Hulk and save for the 16613;" however, I don't subscribe to that philosophy at my current age. I'm currently 28, and I don't need more than 2 nice watches. I want to keep the dj because it was the watch that first attracted me to Rolex, and I like having a dress watch and a sport watch.

I've also heard that gold will "age me," ironically heard that from my older brother, and that two TT watches isn't enough diversity.

My class ring is also shown in the photo. I don't wear it too often, but I think it'd be cool if my watch matched it. I'm also planning on proposing to my gf in the next few months, and she wants a blue saphire on a gold band and no diamond (yes I'm lucky, haha). So my class ring, watch, and her engagament ring would all match.

So, what's everyone's thoughts on the flip?

- Do you flip often? Consider that SS watches hold their value better than TT
- How much do you like gold?
- How much do you like blue vs green?
- Have you tried it on at an AD?

Green happens to be my favourite color. I would keep the LVc
That said, I'm turning 25 in Dec, wear a 1601 TT DJ. I have yet to feel this aging effect of gold your brother speaks of

- This would be my first flip. I acquired the TT DJ back in Jan, and the Hulk 2 months ago. At first I was in love, but that love has greatly diminished, and my desire for the blue has greatly increased.
- I like gold a lot. And honestly, since Rolex uses solid gold and not plating, it adds more to the watch for me. I do like how it adds a little flash too.
- Green and Blue are both up there as my favorite color, slide edge to Blue. I am a diehard ND fan, so Blue and Gold will always have a special place in my heart.
- I tried on the blue and it did sing to me.

I don't feel the "aging" either, but just wanted to hear others' opinions.

Your love for the Hulk has diminished. You tried on the blue and it sings to you. That's enough right there for you to flip. The match with your ring and with your soon-to-be fiance's engagement ring seal the deal, in my view. As for the gold aging thing, I think too much is made of that, and it's really an all-gold thing anyway.

I think the stars say go for it, and good luck.

I'd keep the Hulk. Like Mike said though if I was flipping it, it would be for a 116613.

I own both the SubcLV and the DJ myself. I agree that the 16613 is stunning and could see the desire to flip for it. I still would add it as number three watch if feasible. TRF has taught me that you can never have enough Rolex pieces!!
Good luck with your decision

Definitely keep the Hulk!!!!

Plus, it's more Notre Dame-ish than the 16613, in my opinion. Everything doesn't need to match.

If I could find a used one with the new dial at a descent price, I would consider it. But since that dial is new, I don't see that becoming available for awhile.

I flipped them all the past years, I flipped the DJ that was my first Rolex, same thing with a blue 16613... The Hulk I shall never flip, talking from my opinion, flipping the LVc will keep you awake at night.

The Sub 16613 will be a fine dress Watch as the gold and blue will scream loudly at any fine occasion, and it also match your rings. I say flip the DJ, keep the LVc as beater and wear the Sub 16613 on occasional dress time or weekend.

Not a fan of the new Sub LV, but for the record I did not like the 16610LV for a long time either, so maybe it will grow on me! I do have a 16613 blue dial and I will say that when the sun hits the dial, it is absolutely amazing. IMHO, there is a reason why Rolex is calling the new 116613 the sunburst dial, because if it is a good as their previous dial, they have another winner their hands.

Flip the LV and get the 16613.

sounds like you want to move on, so, do it. personally, i think you will regret flipping the LVc (both because the LVc rocks but also because you'll have two TTs), but, you can always get it back if you want.

I'd pick blue over green anyday plus it will match your blue and gold ring it will be very nice - blue dials are awsome
