keep the responses coming! let's aim for a larger turnout...

I was speaking with my buddy (not part of RF, but a Rolex owner) and we are still thinking of an appropriate venue to match the classiness/prestige of the watch.

Would love to hear some suggestions.

Thanks for the responses thus far.

Depending on when and where I'd certainly show up. Could be an interesting evening!

Hi Guys,

Im up for a meet. My work schedule is all over the place but I would like to come out.
I know Sean, who actually started the Toronto thread is owner of Watchfinder. Back in Aug. when I went to see him he had mentioned he would love to host a meet at his store, Watchfinder on Cumberland in Yorkville. There's Royal De Versaille on Bloor across Bloor st. pretty much a few minute walk from Sean's store. Of course, there are tons of bars/restaurants around there too. If you want a classy area, thats the one that comes to mind.

Here are other AD's :

Raffi at Yorkdale
Humbertown Jewelers
Damiani's
La Difference in Richmond Hill. This is a boutique and they aren't open late.

I think thats it for GTA.

AcuraTL.. if you want to expand from Markham to GTA, give Sean a call at Watchfinder . ca Yorkville location. He is a very friendly guy and is open to hosting at his store. :-)

I think Watchfinder is a great place to meet up, with local bars, and coffee shops around.

only thing is the weather is getting a bit frosty

I'd be in, depending on the day and my commitments. North would be great, as I live in Richmond Hill.

Sorry guys, I haven't been on the forums the last couple of days. But wow! its great to have so many responses for this meet up.

Should we get a vote going to see if there is a preference for the Richmond Hill/Markham area or downtown Toronto?

I'm actually fine with both as I work in the Financial District and live in Unionville,

My preference would be to meet up in the downtown core on this Friday, November 1st, perhaps over dinner

OR

Over coffee at a Starbucks/Timmy's over the weekend on Saturday, November 2nd in the Richmond Hill/Markham area.

What does everyone think?

How about we try for November 8th/9th. I have a volunteering event that will eat up my whole weekend this week.
Sorry!

Im ok for both 8th and 9th. :-)

If you want to look at watches during the get together, perhaps Yorkdale Mall might be a good option. There are a few watch stores to visit, including Rolex AD, open later than most watch stores (if an evening gathering), parking (ya, can be a b***h sometimes), right off highway, & a few dining choices.

Ugh…I didn't know they had closed a garage. They had all summer to do this, they decide now to reno it with winter and Christmas around the corner? :bang head:

I usually park over by The Bay. Even if I end up by the outter wall, its usually less congested. Its all about strategy.

if you guys don't want to look at watches, and look at our own, then we can go elsewhere.

Geez, how in the world did I miss this thread. Got a PM from Judy so I'm in for the GTG as well. I'll be away though from Nov. 6-12. If you guys have plans already for the 8th or 9th then go ahead. Cheers, Phong.

How does Dinner sound on Friday, November 8th. What's everyone's budget? One restaurant that I really like is Biff's on Yonge (just across from the Sony Centre). I believe its around $30+ per person. Another location is Earl's on King/University but that place is packed, especially on a Friday night. Not sure if I can make reservations to accommodate the turnout. I'll definitely try though.

I'm open to other suggestions.

Thanks!
