Milgauss GV Owners

So, according to MAXI DAIL's owners list, their are four forum members who own the GV anniversary addition.

What's the story on how you aquired the watch?

Did you just walk in to an AD and it just happened to be there?

Did you pre-order it?

What's the scoop?

I'm sure we forum members would like to here a good story.

I know I would.

So are they back in production or did you get lucky and find one preowned?

My overeseas AD has been holding one for me for a few months and I finally have time to go and get it. This is from the first production run and it's BNIB. He told me expect a good 6 more months before he see's any more and that's if he is lucky.

It is more a question if my bank advisor would regret it.

I'd have to flip one to be able to buy it. And THAT I might regret.

I started my search back in April, a couple of days after Rolex posted the Milgauss pics on their web site. I made a cold call to a Vegas AD after a local California AD refused to take an order from me.

I provided the AD all the pertinent info on the watch including the model #. The Vegas dealer of course did not know anything about this watch. I called him back a month later and he told me he was getting a lot of calls on this watch and that it was obviously causing quite a stir.

I would call the AD on occasion just to let him know I was still out there waiting for the watch. I called him about a week prior to Thanksgiving and we spoke at length about the Milgauss and watches in general. He had been hearing all the same rumours we had on this model and he believed the watch might arrive in Feb/08.

Then a day prior to Thanksgiving my phone rings and the AD is on the other end telling me, " your not going to believe this, but the Milgauss is here. I was actually stunned as I truly believed I would not see the watch for some time. A few people had posted on the boards pics of their black dialed clear crystals, but I had not seen a GV.

This call came in late on a Wednesday. The AD would be off the next day for the holiday. He said he could write it up when he came in late Friday, 11/29 and that's when I flew into Vegas to pick up my GV :)

I have a chance to get one, but it would be at a premium. No, not $15k, but a premium none the less. HMMMMMMMMM, do I get it now or wait for what might be an eternity?
