Taking backcover off of a SEADWELLER

I am having my local watch guy take off the back cover of my SD for the very first time so I can peek inside and actually see the movement. He deals with rollies so he know what to do .... my question is this:

1) Will taking the back cover off screw up the pressure rating of the watch?
2) Will it have to be pressure tested again?

Or can he just take off the back, then screw it back on, and 10mins later I take the watch 4000ft deep ? Is it that simple?

In other words, what does taking off the back cover scrws up, if any?

thnx,

Just a quick thought no ordinary watchmaker or even AD will be able to test the SD to full pressure. When I made an enquiry at the Rolex Boutique in London, I no one of the chaps there quite well, He has seen the chamber they use for SD's and it is a completely seperate machine from normal testing. This is due to the immnse pressure needed and a precaution should the watch explode for any reason under pressure. Apparently Sd's are tested individually as apposed to being grouped like other pieces.

Movement is the same on your sub, if you MUST see a 3135 movement on your watch, have them do the Sub as it is less difficult to pressure test than the SD. I'm not sure why you would do this at all though.

If you change gasket so will it be as good as it was before you open it.

But you will never know if it was good for 4000ft before, right?

Doesn't opening the back (by a non-RSC/AD) void the warranty? I thought that was the case.
