Trade a ROO Panda for a RO Jumbo? Talk me out of it
So I made the recent decision to flip two of my PAMs for a Lange 1 MP.. And while that deal isn't even complete yet I'm already thinking of other ways to freshen up the collection, namely to trade my ROO Panda for a 15202 extra thin..
I have a small wrist and instinctively the 15202 should thus fit better, but I have tried a different RO before and it was difficult with the stiff bracelet which doesn't bend at th lugs.. Since I can't find a piece to try on at the moment, any thoughts on the trade? Would you do it? Cheers and hagwe! |

I love the Lange MP and I would be very happy with that as my dressy watch and so I would therefore prefer a more sporty AP so the ROO, maybe the Diver if you want a change from the Panda. The 15202s lack of seconds hand bothers me as I like my watches to feel alive, its also why I run the chronos on my chronographs.

Have both and deeply love the Panda (best of the 42mm ROO series in my opinion) but would do it in a heartbeat. Jumbo is the iconic Audemars Piguet. Keep both if you can :)

The lug ends of the jumbo are indeed stiffer and do not hug a small wrist well. You should try it out at the boutique. If the fit is alright, I would say go ahead with the trade. It is well worth it!

Wow looks like the consensus is pretty overwhelming!
What Wayne mentioned is what concerns me tbough. When I tried on a 15300 in the past there was a big gap between the wrist and the bracelet due to the stiff lugs. I imagine the jumbo would be the same. But I'm not sure if it will be like that after the links are removed? That's something the boutique can't do even if they have a piece to try on. Any small wristers have any feedback? Mine is 6 inches.. On the panda after switching to the Singapore strap the fit is better despite the watch being big. |

Your wrist is quite small so either one will fit big. Having said that I wouldn't pass the chance at a Jumbo.

Would thus like feedback from owners with similar problems, as I won't get the chance to size the braceletat the boutique! |

Its the same mate, my ROO on leather strap has very little gap with good fit. Just not sure if a properly sized bracelet on the jumbo will have the same effect!

its totally worth trading your panda for the new jumbo, i also have the 15202 myself, its a real stunning piece, so much history behind this collectors piece, i didn't even try it on before ordering it, not that i had a chance lol, although i've wait months to get it, so i'd say go for it

You really should not go any bigger than a 37mm RO with 6in wrist....

Personally I'd hold onto it and for a few K more, just add a 15300/400.

BTW the jumbo's a very comfortable watch, the lugs are fine, not stiff to wear at all, at least not to me. it wears a bit bigger than 15300 due to its flatness,it has become my daily wear as well.

Love the Panda… but I'd do the trade in a New York minute.
The 15202 is sublime. |

An update of sorts..
Went to my local AP boutique with the aim of trying on the jumbo which unfortunately wasn't in stock. Did manage to try on a dual time royal oak which is also 39mm, and there was a pretty big gap between the wrist and bracelet. The salesman advised that the jumbo would probably give the same problem, maybe even worse as it had stiffer lugs. On the other hand tried on the 15450 Which was sublime in fit and feel.. Any thoughts on this model? Would selling a ROO for this be a big step down? If the Jumbo fit right there would be no hesitation! Pic below |

I dont know man, i am in love with the Panda. That is on my next purchase-list once i've the novelty gold in my hands... I am a large athletic guy though with big wrists so i need larger watches.
Good luck, nice watches either way! |
