Mercedes Benz vs Rolex
I'm wondering if people spent so much money to buy a Mercedes Benz. Do they have any Rolex? I can buy a few Rolex with that money to buy a Benz.

I had a S 500 at one time. I switched to the Lexus LS 430, and now am on my second LS 460. I have a couple of other high end cars of the same brand that I like but the Lexus is a great everyday car. Better than Mercedes in my opinion.

I've had four Benz's 2 SL's, an E300 and an S450. I've always had nice watches. Sometime Rolexes, sometimes AP and Patek. I always end up coming back to Rolex's. Right now my principal driver is a 2014 Jeep SRT. If you can't afford the Benz you can't afford the Rolex.

Had M-B's and Porsche's for years ahead of my first Rolex.
Now I'd say there are many other luxury options for both cars and watches.

I got my first new 01 Benz C320 and DJ16030 within the same year. Since then, I've owned 03 CLK55, and currently drive 03 CL500.

Had a CLS 550 - but even with Snow Tires couldn't handle the Canadian Winter ---
Now Have an Audi A7 oddly enough I had always seen Mercedes as Rolex, Audi as Omega My current watch collection has gone the same way...more into value and style and function...less about Brand recognition.. (current count Omega 12, Rolex 7) (Audi 2, MB 0) |

I'm an Audi/BMW guy but am buying a CLA 4matic for the wife when it comes out next year. It'll be our first Merc so I'll see how much I like the ownership experience.

First Rolex in 1990; first MB in 1995. Since then drove only BMW and Infinity sedans and Nissan trucks. For a brief 1.5 years I also drove a Acura CLS.

I prefer the maintenance cost of a rolex vs the maintenance cost of a MBZ

I have always loved the SL since I was 15, but have yet to own an MB. On my third Porsche however and third Rolex. The Porsches were before the Rolex.

My watch is worth more than my car, I drive a 95 Tahoe, I'm not buying a fancy car until I'm out of college and get a house, until then I will be drivig old used cars. Although lately I've been thinking about buying a Chevy Cruze new, but that's still a year or two out.

I bought a brand new EXI last year, and was saving for something more complicated. After passing on a a few time pieces in May and June, bought a brand new Mercedes C300 in July instead. I don't regret it. Now I'm saving again. Life's full of choices.

I got the Rolex first because I still can't afford the Mercedes that I want.

I like mercedes but have never owned one as I have landed in bmws and porsches instead. I would not shy away from buying one though. I like the sls, but then again who doesn't.

My boyfriend's a car dealer, so I'm in and out of different vehicles all the time.
I am currently driving a Lexus SC 430 and it is a MUCH smoother drive/luxurious feel than driving an SL...It's seriously the quietest/smoothest driving car I've been in (outside of the Bentleys, etc.). You can't hear the road at all and it's a car that people ask me about all the time because you don't see them a lot. I did drive an SLK around for a while, didn't like it as much as the Lexus to be honest. As snow is approaching I'm going to have to give up my little run flat convertible. Just bought a 2007 GL at auction so I can't wait to see how that is. I think the comment about the old saying about "if you have to ask..." is very true. If you're concerned about maintenance costs, then definitely do not venture into German territory! |

Got an e-class coupe, the wife has an R-class for children and lugging shopping and pushchairs etc etc. I also have a BMW e92 330 coupe which is a very capable piece of kit which is used more for my daily commute. The Rolex came first BTW.
