When will GMT BLNR Price Normalize?

Seems that a good price on a LNIB GMT BLNR (if you can even find one) is $1200+ more than a similar GMT-C while their list prices are what, $500 (??) apart. Any speculation on when the LNIB BLNR price premium will track more closely with the respective list prices of the two watches?

My speculation is that it will happen when purchasers are no longer willing to pay the $1200+ premium.

Well then that would be now because I'm not.

I try to only " buy high and sell low" on my stock portfolio.

The LN has been out since 2007. That's a lot of production out there in comparison to the BLNR. Unless a new bezel model is released at Basel, it may take years for the BLNR demand to be met such that BNIB prices converge closer to the retail difference.

The LVc went through a period when it was the 'it' watch, too.

This is a typical phenomena on new watches that are in demand. I would probably buy the BLNR right now if it was tracking within $500-800 of the LN in the secondary market. Eventually ADs will have some unsold in the store and they will be abundant in the secondary market. Only then will prices come down closer to that of the LN model. How long that takes is anyone's guess, but it will happen.

Anyone paying a premium price for any Rolex new watch must be sixpence short of a shilling IMHO period.

I would be willing to pay retail at an AD if I could find one but there is no way I would pay retail from a reseller.

Let's see if the new Basel releases calm thing down a bit... if not, after everyone that craves one has theirs, supply and demand should do the trick.

No offense was meant. But if there were no savings I would rather buy from an AD.

Trust me, I would buy the YM II you have for sale in a second if I could afford it.

what you should also consider ,, is ,, I would imagine ??? a price rise at some point ,,,,, thus paying the price now will be cheaper and waiting.

Never understood why someone would pay a premium when you can buy at MSRP from an AD.

I think
The difference is $500. $8,450 for the LN and $8,950 for the BLNR. Same premium as the SubLV enjoys.

No one knows when the prices will cool off on the BLNR but when they do the effects will be unforgiving for people who are paying premium (above retail) for buying a new one.

I got mine for 10% off at an AD in the Caribbean with a little Rolex knife as a gift.

I have bought from them several times before, so I'm sure that helped a little.

Still pertinent to the conversation IMHO. The market for the BLNR is different in different regions. I see posted on TRF about waiting lists for the BLNR, and paying full price, and paying premiums......I've been a couple places where they had a BLNR in the case like the other models. In Grand Cayman they had 2 others besides the one they had in the safe for me. I'm sure its demand is high...especially in some markets, but not everywhere.

Like has already been stated, the price of the BLNR will come down after the market becomes a bit more saturated. It has only been in ADs 6-8 months. Give it a year and the price will be better IMHO.

A new Coke or Pepsi at Basel would excite the market, THEN the BLNR would 'normalise' (if it really needs to). Sounds like you can get one at list if you apply 'due diligence'.

limited supply to AD

This watch is restricted supply to AD. Only reason it is selling at a premium. Family member is AD. If everyone here said it was ugly it might be discounted!
