So, I'm watching War Wagon with John Wayne and Kirk Douglas. One thing I keep noticing is how fit Kirk Douglas is. He's leaping onto horses like a 25 year old basketball player. And in one scene that I had to rewind and double check, Kirk Douglas scales a 20 foot rock wall with a rope, in one continuous take. In my best days I might have been able to drag myself up that rope, but it would have taken a heck of a lot longer then the 8 seconds he took.

And all the time he's leaping horses and scaling walls, he was just on the north side of 50 years old! Impressive, to say the least.

I saw Kirk a few days ago in 20,000 Leagues. He seemed to be pretty fit. And if Wikipedia is correct, he's currently 97 years old.

Now those are my kinds of movies...I grew up watching those old Westerns and WW II movies back in the 60's. I would stay up with my Father on the weekends watching those movies till 2AM or 3AM in the morning!!!

Great movie, but Stagecoach probably has the edge
