Traded my 116610 for a 114060 and a datejust + a reverso

So... the date window on the 116610 was annoying me too much. Went to the AD to see what I can get.

Ended up trading the 116610 Plus cash for 114060 + a new 36mm white gold bezel datejust and a JLC reverso 976. I wanted to round off my collection and the AD gave me a decent price ( 10% off all watches plus valued by watch at retail)

I am a lot happier with the 114060 this will be my daily wear watch and the 116234 is for my wife as a daily wear watch. The Reverso 976 will do as a dress watch and the speedy pro will be the casual piece.

Wow, sweet collection. Can't go wrong with any variation of the Sub!

The JLC wasn't in stock and the dealer wasn't able to call JLC till Monday. So I'll know when they'll get it tomorrow. Can't wait!

I'm really not following this. You traded your watch into the AD, and how much did you get for it? It retails for $1,000+ more than the watch you left with, but you also bought TWO MORE watches? How much more did you drop?

Nice aquisitions there, but i've got to be honest with you. First, i wouldn't have bought new. You will be hit by huge deprecations. Second, i believe you should buy one watch at a time, and form a bond with it. Sort of like a girlfriend, once you get tired of her, you can move on to the next one. I hope i'm mistaken, but now you're gonna feel like you spent a s**t load of money, and you are not able to properly connect with all three at the same time.

This is just my opinion, and i hope i'm wrong. On the plus side, you got yourself some killer pieces. Enjoy them in good health.

I paid 11000 Eur ( about 15000 usd) I could have sold the Sub date myself and bought the three watches online and spend 2000 USD less but I could justify the extra cost as I get it with a AD sealed guarantee and I get to establish a good relationship with them for the future.

Thanks for clarifying! Selling on your own can be a much bigger ordeal than some believe, if you're looking for top dollar. There's plenty of deals to be had while buying, but why would someone give me the same price they could give an established "trusted seller?" Dealing directly with an AD for all of those pieces is easy, and there's no worry about getting scammed- but of course you pay a little more. I say congrats, sounds like a good deal to me!
