Daytona 116599 4RU
For my sweet wife... After looking at quite a few different models and visiting a lot of different dealers, we decided to get the 116599 4RU because as luck would have it, one presented itself at a fantastic price just a few days ago. I think the rubies are a very nice accent. We are awaiting the arrival of the smaller bracelet so it will fit my wife's wrist. Here is a preliminary shot
Does anyone else have this model or its sister models? |

Wow, first time I've seen a women's Rolex like that! Congrats to you both! Looks great on her wrist. Once the bracelet comes in, post some more pics.

thanks. Yes they must be rare, in fact it is the only one we've seen like that "in the flesh". Most dealers, even Wynn, said they have to special order items like that. So when we went to a local official dealer store and there it was on display, that was a nice surprise. Then when he calculated the price it was a heckuva lot less than we had been quoted before. So, it was now or probably never. She's worth it

As a male, I would wear that. I do not see it as a woman's watch.

Everything went as planned, they over-nighted the smaller strap and its fine. The dealer gave us a nice Rolex micro fiber polishing cloth for it and a display stand. We have to get a 'pillow' for it to store in her jewellery box too (next visit). |

The dealer did have a Daytona with a blue strap that had an all-sapphire bezel and diamond points on the dial - I have to admit that is a nice watch a man could also wear. I think its a new model, maybe limited edition

BTW I found out the dealers have 30 days to pay for Rolexes. This is a special order watch, so the AD had to take a leap of faith. We were told it can be 6-8 months to order one. It was in the store 2 days before we saw it and out it on hold. Lucky!

Very nice piece!
I'd like to get my wife one - it's either that or lease a St. James red Bentley continental :) |
