at first glance.......

LOVE the titanium luminors (both 562 & 564) and the new chronographs look awesome (and surely WELL beyond my price range). 560 & 563 are solid updates, too.

strange, but, either i'm used to the "8 DAY" text or it looks better on these models....

EDIT: still wish the new 8-day models had a power reserve on the back....i was hoping they would have fixed that oversight from the 510.

Thanks for posting, it is much appreciated.
The watches are very underwhelming to be honest IMHO.

i never gave much thought to the 176, but the 562 makes me smile. (i accidentally noted 45mm, when it is 44 obviously )

for all the talk about OP putting out too many special editions, 2014 looks pretty restrained so far. only four.

although i saw this Ti destro sub w/ hobnail dial on p.com:

Concerning the p5000 movement, when i spoke to them at the london exhibition they were very much "the p5000 is the budget movement" they said this was the reason it had a single back plate as well as the lack of a hacking mechanism, quick set, clutch etc. They wanted to differentiate it from the more expensive movements. Without quickset i doubt if there will ever be a date version and much as a power reserve makes sense, i got the impression there was no plan for one, if you want 8 days and a power reserve you're into the more expensive p2000 movements

concerning the releases this year, for the first time ever i wasn't emailing the dealers with a wish list, trust me my wallet is over the moon at this news after the past few years. I like some of the models, but they're just not for me, i like what they're trying to do to open the range up

i would love a 47mm version of the 529, basically a 232 with a p3000 movement and the ecru lume

i suspect these special editions might not fly off the shelves with the normal speed, hopefully next year we'll have a historic catch up. They do need to expand the range, but they also need to keep the historic fans happy, i suspect this year is much more about the former then the latter.

ps ok so now I've seen the un announced diver with the hobnail dial, so maybe my wallet is getting twitchy again

So am I seeing right that a base no seconds PAM is now $8,250? Lulz, OK

Can we just admit that Panerai has jumped the shark quite some time ago and while glimpses of brilliance sometime glimmer here and there that besides a few bases they haven't made anything great since Vendome then Richmont took over. The Pre V and Vintage are the high water mark and that's truly respectable but let's just whistle past the graveyard like we should have some time ago.

I find the most interesting pieces are:

579 - LUMINOR 1950 CHRONO MONOPULSANTE LEFT-HANDED 8 DAYS TITANIO - 47mm: 4 numerals *and* nice complications!!! - second only to the 345

The 562 & 564 are definitely good-looking models The mvmt could look better... *sigh* but ok, certainly not a show-stopper.

Do the above include SE / LEs too... ?

I love the 564. An upgrade from my former 177.

BOO-no 8 Days Logo (a la 005).

They're starting to take the Taco Bell approach to their offerings, I see.

Remembering the goodness of pam 372, they release entirely the same watch this year, the 557 for left handed person.

While the PAM 560 just looks like PAM 511

these are so similar and lack of creativity. the difference are only the word "marina" and there is no small seconds @9 at pam 560. differences only these 2?? lol

take a look at pam 511

and pam 560

to be fair, the whole point of this year is the move from ETA-based to in-house movements, so there of course is a lot of visual overlap. big difference being the "8 DAY" text signifying the manual in-house 8-day movement.

as for "marina" or not, that's the difference betwen base and non-base, and that's been part of panerai for years....

Despite always having the opinion that the second hand was a must, I think I like the 560 more than the 510!
