Icon6 16570 + 97200 = Happiness

Who said numbers were boring.

Just rejuvenated my 16570 with a 97200 bracelet and Glidelock. And just like that, my ExpII will be getting a lot of wrist time again

Even if my 16570 is a random serial with solid end links, the fully solid links of the 97200 bracelet and more importantly the Glidelock clasp makes this feel like a new watch all over again

Suddenly my Sub-Cs and GMT-C got some competition from an "old" dog

For me this is the perfect Explorer II.

IMHO, the 216570 is too big for my liking and it "only" has easylink. It's a nice watch don't get me wrong, but a 16570 with a modern bracelet/clasp is my interpretation of the ultimate Explorer

The perfect (albeit expensive) way to modernize a classic piece, imo!

What a brilliant upgrade! I want to do the same now. I wonder how much it would cost me, though...
Congratulations, anyway. You now have the perfect watch :-)

IIRC, the clasp alone goes for about 2k US dollars- possibly a bit more.

1500 US?!? That's outrageous!

I've had a change of heart... Thanks for the info :-)

This bracelet/clasp combo is perhaps the best ever made by any company. Congrats on the upgrade!

Nice... Where did you source the bracelet? Were you able to get it from a AD?

Got it second hand.

A few years ago it was no problem to source a new 97200 from my local AD. But I haven't checked recently. Not sure if they will sell on trade-in basis only nowadays, as they do with e.g. dials and bezels.

Nice!!! Reallly like it!

Is that glidelock direct mounting on 16570? or need to modify?

thank for your answer.

I understand well how much the bracelet affects the EXP II; added a Jubilee to mine and it makes the watch so much more attractive to me. Congratulations!!!

Nice upgrade. I did the same (97200) with my 16610, which fitted without modifications. I recently sold the glidelock, will not put an easylink (77200) on mine as the clasp is a little smaller and thus lighter and I don't dive with the watch anyway; already checked with the easylink band from my now gone Explorer 39mm and it fits like a glove too!

I know it is an old thread, but are there any other pics of the watch and the bracelet?
Thanks
