Strap suggestions for Sub
Hi, I want to take your opinions on what strap looks good with a no date sub 14060M. I know Natos are a viable option, but there seems to be some that are better quality than the others. Other than Natos, do you have any suggestions?

I have always been very happy with the bracelets the Subs come with. Just have never figured out this whole strap thing when you have a beautiful bracelet.

For old subs, 1680, the strap looks pretty good. Try the end link option for newer models, check out these pictures on the forum to see if you like them or not.

I would prefer it on a solid black or gray nato, but other than that maybe a black rubber strap?
Very light brown or black leather looks good too - although leather on a Sub is a little bit of a head scratcher. Or how about a SS mesh bracelet? Whatever you decide, post some pics! Good luck |

You could always try a Rubber B, little bit pricey but so is the watch and they are top notch rubber straps..

The bracelet is still my favorite look for the sub, but I like to mix it up every now and then. I like the Maratac branded straps...
http://www.broadarrow.net/maratac.htm My first was a Zulu, but it was so thick it was hard to get on. The Mil-Series are a little thinner and go on nice. I have a black and MI-6. I think the MI-6 is still on sale for $10!!! Your watch takes the 20mm size. Happy hunting. |

I get my NATOs from Gnoman Watch Co. They take about 2 weeks to ship from Singapore but they're very high quality. I have 6 right now - their selection is one of the best I've seen. My favorite is my desert tan with matte hardware. Don't have a pic of that one though. This is "light gray":

Isofrane.
Leather (I like Toshi and Gunny straps). Nylon non-NATO (like GasGasBones).

Try a strap from DeLuca Straps they made two custom jobs for me. I sent them leather from my fathers old baseball glove (brown with dark brown stitch) and leather from his old wallet (black with orange stitch and keeper). They work with you and are quite reasonable. Make the strap personal to you then it's as good as any bracelet

I have tried a few options but these were all short timers just to give the bracelet a break from time to time. I like options but if I was forced to wear the sub on its bracelet forever, I'd be okay with that

For a nominal charge he took the finished straps to a leather engraver and had my dads initials and 1951 placed inside the glove leather and a P'12 inside the black which is a nod to my sons alma mater which my father never lived to see. The straps have become as important to me as the watch and they look great. A great -change up- just like my dads pitch!

I just swapped out my bracelet for leather. It makes the watch less recognizable, and gives the bracelet a bit if a break. Honestly I still prefer the bracelet, but it's a nice change.

You got it all covered. Good taste, too. I think the sub is very difficult to put on a strap and look good, but you've done it. Kudos! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Maratac. Hides any Rolex well.
The other day someone commented on how nice my watch was. When they noticed that it was a Rolex they said "I would have never thought one of those could go on a cloth strap." I gave a brief history lesson on the Mil Sub and its connection to Tudor...blah, blah, blah. I do solids mainly. I rotate colors every few weeks and it gives the watch a completely different feel and look. Love the bracelet, but straps are what lug holes are made for. My current Maratac costs 9 bucks.

I like them on brown leather; $20 Hadley Roma works well for me.

I always think, people who put their watch with metal bracelet on a strap (because afraid of scratching the bracelet) imo should buy a watch which comes original on a strap.

That's reasonable but without knowing the reasons or how often the swap occurs it doesn't make sense. Hey I just got a 16613. Love it and want to wear it everyday. But I can't not only because I want to protect the band but it's not something I can wear at work. Swap out the strap for work. Swap it back for everything else. I can wear the watch daily instead of going between watches (which I will eventually do once the honeymoon period ends). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
